The Bible introduces a strange tale concerning the wickedness of man that eventually led to man’s destruction in the Flood of Noah’s day.
“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” – Genesis 6:1-5
According to this Scripture, the Nephilim were genetic hybrids between humans and demons. Many think this is just a fairy tale story or that the Nephilim were all destroyed in the Flood, but, were they? The Genesis account includes the phrase “and also afterward” to indicate that Noah’s day was not the last of the Nephilim and later Scriptures also mention them. But, scientists respond with the question, “If Nephilim were real, where is the evidence of them?” Maybe it has been here right in front of us but pre-conclusions have kept us from seeing them.
Recent findings in Egypt and Peru are raising some interesting questions that challenge conventional thinking. You can read about them in 3,000 Year-Old Hieroglyphics Discovery Stirs Nephilim Debate.
Humanism has really damaged us. If you talk about the Nephilim to the average church-goer they will probably look at you like maybe you’re a little off your rocker. But, like you said, the Bible clearly describes it; if it happened back then, why couldn’t it happen now?
