Psalm 83 War – part 2

ps 83 confederatesAs I wrote in Psalm 83 – part 1, a restored Israel could be a great blessing to the surrounding Arab nations. They have already been a blessing to Jordanians by teaching them new methods of farming and water management. But, Islamic pride and radicalism has all but erased the ground gained. Radical Islam’s message of “Come, let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more” has blinded them to the possible blessings a restored Israel could be.

The true nature of Islam rules the Muslim population with the thought that “land that was once ruled by Islam can never be surrendered” so, even so-called moderate Muslims cannot and will not oppose those radicals who claim jihad as the only answer. Thus, the Psalm 83 prophesy is the only answer left. Asaph, leader of Solomon’s priestly choir, was a prophet and he identified the people groups that would rise against Israel to destroy it in Psalm 83. ps 83 table of nationsAs you can see in the picture above, these people surround Israel and their lands abut Israel as shown in the pentagram area above. The table included identifies the people groups named with modern day identifications.

You will notice that the Palestinians are mixed with many other Arab groups. They consist of three main Arab groups: the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinians of the West Bank, and the Palestinian Refugees, which live mostly in various tent refugee camps.

Something happens that results in these people attacking Israel and as a result, Israel gains control of their lands. Perhaps ISIS gains control of them and attacks Israel. Many of these groups are currently proxies of Iran and Iran is fighting ISIS but loyalties in this part of the world are very fragile and can shift overnight as recently witnessed in Yemen. ISIS is gaining ground in Syria, Iraq, and the Sinai. It is threatening Jordan and Saudi Arabia and its stated goal is to establish a caliphate that includes Israel.

One thing is certain, this is not the Ezekiel 38 war in which the nations primarily come from outside the pentagon, whereas in the Psalm 83 war, the nations and peoples are within the pentagon as shown in map 2. And there is no mention of Gog!

What will be the final outcome of the Psalm 83 war?  When this battle is over, Israel will control a much larger territory. It will approach the territory given to it by God and controlled by Solomon as shown in light red in map 3. The prophesy of Isaiah 11 declares Israel will control all the territory currently held by these nations and even control much of Saudi Arabia.

How much of Saudi Arabia Israel will control is debatable but their political influence will likely reach over most of it.

They will control at least two main water ways, possibly three, as marked by the blue circles in map 3.

As Ezekiel predicted, the IDF will be the dominant military force in the region.

“So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.” – Ezekiel 37:10

As Isaiah 11 predicted, they will gain great resources: oil, natural gas, water, minerals, etc. Their control of the three main water ways in the Middle East would put them in a powerful position to control the politics of the region. These are reasons I believe this war will happen shortly before the War of Gog and Magog.

Remember, God is in control and it was He that said, “I will put hooks in your jaws and bring you down” to Gog. I cannot think of many things than the outcome of the Psalm 83 war that would be a bigger hook!
