Know this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. – 2 Timothy 3:1

Paul goes on to warn Timothy about the nature of the dangerous elements that will afflict mankind in the last days, and they all have to do with man himself! He then lists their main faults –

“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Of course this list applies to women as well as men. Let me list them separately.

1. “lovers of their own selves” – This is not referring to homosexuality but selfishness. It is one of the main motivations behind modern day advertisement – “You deserve it” tempts the announcer.
2. “covetous” – This could be taken from the Democrat and race-baters election playbook as they try to convince the “have-nots” to get even with the “haves” by making them pay in some way for their success in life.
3. “proud boasters” – This is used in every phase of modern life, from school sports to Hollywood actors to Ivy league clicks and secret societies. It should be called “false pride” because everything we have was mostly given to us; our looks, our physical size and ability, our mental intellect, and even our money. You may say “I earned that!” but the Bible states “It is God who give the power to get wealth“.
4. “blasphemers” – You can seldom listen to the news or a film today without hearing God’s name used in vain. Sometimes there are so many bleeps you can hardly understand what the person is saying! But blasphemy goes much further than just swearing. It is also taking credit for God’s actions or failing to give God glory for what He has done.
5. “disobedient to parents” – This needs no proof, it is epidemic. But, I must say it is largely the fault of the parents who have forsaken their God-given responsibility to raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord!
6. ” Without natural affection” – In the last decade approximately 60,000 abortions in America alone have proven this to be the case. Killing your own children is not natural.
7. The list goes on but I must finish this blog with the warning of the outcome of this depravity in mankind.

Paul warns Timothy that Jannes and Jambres would be the types that assault mankind in the last days. They were wicked magicians in Egypt that withstood Moses. They were demonically inspired and they denied the very existence of God. How will they appear in our time?

They will tempt man to deny God and their main temptation will be the false doctrine of evolution. Evolution destroys the need of a Savior because it claims there was death long before sin. There can be no harmony between evolution and the God of the Bible contrary to what liberal theologians try to claim. Any evolutionary scientist knows the order of creation listed in Genesis is not the same as their evolutionary order and they laugh at those supposed Christians who try to claim it so.

However, evolution has not been proven true even though it is taught as truth in almost every public school. Most of those teaching it don’t even know the three main processes of evolution: 1) abiogenesis – living arising from non-living, 2) ontogenesis – the development of an individual organism or anatomical or behavioral feature from the earliest stage to maturity, and finally 3) exogenesis – the changing of one species into another. There has never been any scientific proof of abiogenesis or exogensis, in other words you can’t get a toad from a rock and you can’t get a frog from a toad! We see changes within the species all the time; for example people living in the Himalayas have bigger lung capacity or modern men are taller than men in the dark ages were. But, this just means God has wonderfully equipped creation to adapt to its environment – within their own kind. This does not prove evolution – it does prove the glory of God!

Satan will inspire men to deny the creation of God by evolution and they will even try to evolve mankind by genetically tampering with him. If you could enhance your intelligence, significantly extend your lifespan, or overcome a moral flaw with the help of surgery or pharmaceuticals, would you do it? What if you could make these same improvements in your children before they are even born? Herein lies the question at the center of the growing movement known as transhumanism: if technology could enable you to enhance your life in some way, would you do it, even if it meant losing part of your humanity in the process?

There is a new philosophy known as transhumanism you will know a lot more about beginning this year. Transhumanists will try to play God as the following video shows. But remember, this is like trying to walk on a mountain shale slide – it is a very slippery slope!

This technology will play directly into the hands of the soon to arrive Antichrist. And eventually even human DNA will be modified making us like the Nephilim of Noah’s day. It will lead to the prediction of Jesus for the last days –

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” – Matthew 24:37
