God’s Justice is Sure

God is not mocked! Individuals or nations cannot deny Him by their actions and yet expect His continued blessings. The United States actually began almost 400 years ago when the Pilgrims and Puritans first came to this land in the early 1600’s. Others may have come before them but they were never able to successfully found a society. Why? I believe it was because God kept this land for those who would form a covenant with Him. Both the Pilgrims and the Puritans did this and they relied upon God’s protective hand to establish them. If you read true historical reports, you will find every colony and state was founded upon a covenant relationship with God Almighty. None can deny that God kept His part of the covenant and this nation became the most blessed in all history. It truly became “A city on a hill” for all the world to see and immolate. But, rather than celebrating this and continuing it, we have been denying our history, apologizing for its success, and working to tear down its foundations. 

Our current ‘first lady’ declared at her husbands inauguration as President, ‘Finally I can be proud of this nation!’ Wasn’t the fact that she was afforded the best education available worthy of thanksgiving? Wasn’t the fact that her husband could run for and be elected President worthy of thanksgiving? After all, neither Russia or any other communist country whose doctrines she espouses has ever elected a black person as president. I wonder if she is thankful for the many expensive vacations she and her family have enjoyed the last six years? I wonder if she is thankful for the lavish clothing and many servants this country has afforded her these last six years? But, I am picking on Mrs. Obama because she is so visible. There are many in America that have taken the blessings this country has afforded and never given a simple ‘thank you‘ to the Lord whose blessings are responsible for them!

Wake up America! You have turned your back on God. You celebrate and enjoy entertainment that pokes fun at God and His people. Nearly every TV program and movie includes marriage infidelity and sexual immorality as well as blasphemous language as the norm – and few complain about it. You allow and pay for education that denies God, teaches the unproven theory of evolution as if it is fact, and substitutes Marxist socialism for the Republican Democracy we were founded upon. You outlaw nativity scenes and the Ten Commandments from public display but force Christian businesses to honor those who dishonor God by their actions! Then you wonder why the young people are leaving the Church in droves and supporting liberal philosophies that are destroying America’s foundational principles.

​Has a nation changed its gods, which are not gods? But My people have changed their Glory for what does not profit. ​​Be astonished, O heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid; Be very desolate,” says the LORD. ​​“For My people have committed two evils: ​​They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water. – Jeremiah 2:11-13

No nation who does this will ever prosper or escape God’s judgment for long. Both our churches and our government have “hewn cisterns for themselves that cannot hold water” and the life-giving water is draining out. Drought has come and will spread throughout the land. There is a drought of the Word of God being spoken to this land, with only a few water holes to be found in the resulting desert. Wisdom has forsaken this nation as it has forsaken the LORD. It does not know that forsaking God’s chosen land of Israel and dividing it will result in our land being forsaken and divided. As God spoke to Babylon, we have been weighed in the balance and found wanting. All that remains is – will we repent and turn back to God? Or will our land be divided as well?

“And this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.” – Daniel 5:25-28

I begin to understand why Jeremiah was called “the weeping prophet”. I see the calamity like a giant tsunami wave about to sweep over us and yet people are living as if nothing is wrong. Wake up America! Hear the word of the LORD –

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; And to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. – Isaiah 55:7
