As Jesus was giving His teaching on the end of the age, He gave a clear societal sign that would be a harbinger of the soon approach of these days. It was the sign of Noah –

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, “and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” – Matthew 24:37-39

Maybe you remember, Noah was the man who lived during the days of the Biblical flood that destroyed the then-known world except for Noah and his family. Jesus’ warning involved eating and drinking and marrying and giving in marriage but, you may ask what is so bad about eating or drinking and isn’t marriage the way we continue the human race? To understand this phrase you have to read between the lines – so to speak.

Jesus was talking to people who knew the Word of God and they knew what the Bible said about Noah’s day.

“Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Then the Lord  saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” – Genesis 6:1-8

The key to understanding this time is the phrase – Then the Lord  saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. They took all God had created for man’s good and perverted it, taking credit for it themselves or giving credit for it to imaginary gods, that were in reality fallen angels and demonic spirits.

Finally, they corrupted the ‘seed’ of man by physically joining with the ‘sons of God’, which were fallen angels who had been cast out of heaven because of their satanic rebellion. In modern terms, we would say they changed the DNA of man into something other than what God designed it to be, thus corrupting mankind. You see, man was created in the ‘image and likeness’ of God. He was three-fold in nature being body, soul, and spirit. He carried within his very nature the ability to commune with his Creator. If God wanted to preserve mankind, He had no choice but to destroy these genetic misprints of His original design. Maybe not all people were corrupted genetically but, they were not opposed to it and would eventually be perverted. Only Noah remained true to God. God waited for 120 years as Noah preached, warning those of his age against the evil that was overtaking them, pleading with them to turn back. Finally, God in His wisdom saw that the end was inevitable and sent the flood to cleanse the earth of the all-pervasive wickedness that had infected both man and beast.

Evil spirits had sexual relations with the daughters of man producing genetic aberrations of God’s design for man – giants. The Hebrew word is ‘nephilim’ and they were giants in more than just physical size. Their capability for evil was also magnified and their enhanced intellect was used for wickedness rather than good. I have no doubt that they also genetically modified even the animals for higher productivity, etc. Something had to have happened to cause God to gather only a select few representatives of the animal kingdom for preservation in the Ark.

Jesus warned that these kind of days reappearing would be a warning that the end of this age was about to happen. So what does the evidence reveal? For at least 50 years psychologists and liberal educators have been denying the 3-fold nature of man. When I was being trained in educational counseling all the text books claimed that man was only two-fold; body and mind. The doctrine of evolution denies God as the Creator and degrades mankind to an accident of natural forces. Several generations of these false doctrines educating our children has produced people open to the deception that allows broken families, loss of moral values, and acceptance of occult principals in place of Godly truth. Now, we are accepting genetic modification of the human race. We have designer babies being grown in test tubes, genetic modification to produce super-soldiers,  the promise of people with IQ’s of 1000 instead of 100, and the promise of living for 1000 years. Genetic scientist are openly talking and experimenting with cyborgs – the melding of humans with machines. Instead of acknowledging God as the Creator, they are giving the credit to aliens who came from other worlds – really just reappearance of the ‘fallen angels’ of Genesis. These are just a few of the signs re-emerging on the scene. One genetic scientists even stated, “we are building to reach our creator!” – in other words, ‘we are building a tower of Babel’.

Along with these signs there is the corruption of Godly sexual relationships starting with no-fault divorce, living together without marriage, adultery within marriage, homosexual and lesbian relationships, and even transgender aberrations all being accepted as normal and protected by law. This is open rebellion against God and His laws. Their end is clearly declared by Scripture –

“And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” – Jude 1:6,7

 Who has the answer to this problem of corruption? Only the Church! But, what if the Church itself is also corrupted? Jesus said –

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” – Matthew 5:13

Spotlight Ministries wrote in the article “Why the increase in Occultism?” –

“Another area where some churches fail is in the area of the supernatural. Again, it is unfortunate that some churches seem to be nothing more than a sort of social club. In some churches there is no evidence of God moving supernaturally and meeting people at their points of need. Human beings are physical, but also have a spiritual dimension to them. When this spiritual dimension is not met in a church then spiritually hungry people begin to look elsewhere to have the void filled. This is when some find some of their spiritual needs met in occult practices. The Church needs to be moving supernaturally and helping people to experience God as well as learning about Him through doctrine. If they fail to do these things, we shouldn’t be surprised when people look for alternatives.”

Much of the church tries to accept both the Bible and the doctrines of evolution and psychology – it cannot be done – they are incompatible. The only possible answer to this great deception is for the Church to return to its Spirit filled roots.

The good news is – there is coming a latter day outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will equip us to answer and overcome this great deception.

“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.” – Joel 2:23

“Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.” – Zechariah 10:1

As we see the signs of Noah’s day appearing, we should be praying for the latter rain to fall on us and on the Church.
