In my last post Days of Noah, I warned about the danger of mixing God’s created design with the devil’s designs. When God finished His creation of heaven, earth, and everything in them – He said “it was good.” It needed no improvement. It was socially and genetically perfect. However, the devil tempts man into thinking he can improve on what God created. Down through the centuries of time Satan has deceived mankind with many false gods and other doctrines all trying to displace God as the Creator. In modern times his main deceit has been evolution and aliens. One places man above God and the other gives credit for the creation to so-called alien intervention in man’s history. Both are distortions of the truth. There are aliens that have invaded earth and mankind – they are called demons and are part of Satan’s kingdom of darkness. In Genesis 6, they were called “the sons of God” and were fallen angels that followed Satan in his rebellion.

As an retired educator I can say there is such a thing as evolution. in fact there are three branches of it: 1) abiogenesis – non-living into living, 2) ontogenesis – changes within the womb or species, and 3) exogenesis – species into species. There is proof of ontogenesis; men have gotten bigger over time, horses have changed, polar bears have adapted to meet their climate, etc. But, there is no evidence of exogenesis;one species changing into another, and there has never been a living being produced from non-living matter, abiogenesis. When people today try to say man came from monkeys they use examples of ontogenesis to try and prove exogenesis. This is deception and is aimed at removing God and His principles for living from society.

The devil and his followers are often wiser than Christians and they understand that if they can get man to dilute God’s laws, precepts, or statutes in any way, they have weakened the only real spiritual power man has. The Old Testament often refers to this act of unbelief and rebellion –

“And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.” – Numbers 3:4

Nadab and Abihu were sons of Aaron, the High Priest but, they thought they could change God’s prescribed way of approaching Him. They offered “strange” fire and God caused fire to consume them. What caused the fire they offered to be classified as “strange”? It could have been many things: 1) the coals they carried in their sensors had not come from the Altar on which sacrifice was made for sins, 2) they had to mix the coals with incense which represents the prayer of God’s saints (Revelation 8:4) or perhaps the incense wasn’t mixed according to God’s prescription or 3) perhaps they did not approach God with singleness of heart as James warned. The lessen is however clear – God is God and He changeth not!

“And he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:” – Leviticus 16:12

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double–minded.” – James 4:8

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” – James 1:6-8

The devil has not changed his method of temptation. As Daniel prophesied, the last Gentile kingdom will have the form of 10 toes and will be destroyed because of the sin of ‘mixing’. As the people of Noah’s day tried to mix demonic and human seed, so it will be for the last Gentile kingdom.

“As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.” – Daniel 2:43

The false religious system known as Mystery Babylon also has this problem. She tries to meet man’s innate desire for the spiritual dimension with humanism and occult practices, which are in her control and not God’s.

“Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.” – Revelation 18:6

The time of her judgment is rapidly nearing and it is time for all those who love God to come out of her –

“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” – Revelation 18:4

This message is warning – don’t mix God’s truths with the “strange fire” of humanism or occultism. Don’t settle for a part of God’s truth – He expects us to embrace all of it. Don’t expect your priest to save you – he cannot! Don’t expect your Pastor to save you – he cannot! There is salvation only in the name of Jesus and He has sent the Holy Spirit to empower us, to teach us, and to bring to remembrance all that Jesus taught and did. If your church does not teach that the Holy Spirit is alive today and available, and that includes all His gifts as well, get out of that church and ask God to show you where to go.

As we read of the current rush to genetic engineering of seeds, animals, and even humans it would be well to remember God’s warning to such actions –

“‘You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.” – Leviticus 19:19

God included this instruction in His command to be holy and remember Scripture says –

“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;” – Hebrews 12:14,15
