“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me to preach good tidings to the poor: … To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” – Isaiah 61:1, 2

This is the message Jesus began His ministry with, a ministry He passed on to His Church – those who believe in Him and put their trust in Him. It is not a message of “greasy-grace” or “sloppy-agape” as some would teach. God has not changed, nor have His standards changed. God still hates sin because it separates us from Him. What this message does do is present all of us with a way to escape the consequences of sin. The Bible declares –

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

Free at Last

Mankind’s old nature is corrupt and cannot change so God made a way for us to be “born again”, to become a new creation through the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The consequences of sin is death so Jesus stood in for us – though He was sinless, He was willing to die in our place on the cross of Calvary. If we are willing to repent of our sin and acknowledge Jesus as our substitute, His Holy Spirit will do a re-creation in us, then the Spirit will begin to work in us to help our “new man” grow strong enough to overcome the old nature and follow Jesus in a new life. Though this will be a life-long work, as we daily choose to follow the Spirit’s leading, we will begin to look and act like Jesus.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:” – Colossians 3:1-10 KJV

This is the “good news” of the Kingdom of God that Jesus began to preach. It is the message all His disciples preach, both then and now. It is not condoning sin but rather, it is a message of hope – you can be set free from the bondage of sin.

God’s Warriors Fighting to Deliver Sinners from Satan’s Clutches

Satan, the embodiment of evil, does not like this message because it reminds him that he is defeated and will end his existence in a pit of brimstone and fire. Every sinner set free is another link in the chain that will bind him to his fate. But today, he is working through his followers to deceive, entice, and condemn as many of us as he can into the fate he shares – hell. That’s what the homosexual-lesbian movement is all about. Satan attaches a fancy monogram to it – LGBT. He couches it in such concepts as discrimination, hate crime, or freedom, to hide the fact that it is just another door into bondage and slavery and finally into judgment. Man was God’s highest act of creation and the devil hates mankind because he hates God and everything God loves. He fostered the false theory of Evolution to deceive man into thinking he is nothing special – just an accident of nature. The evolution deception is an attempt to separate mankind from their true Creator, fooling them into thinking they don’t have any obligation to acknowledge their Maker, fully knowing that this rejection will send them to hell – with him.

America has been “a light shinning on a hill” for the nations as our founders intended us to be. We have sent more missionaries into the world than any other nation in history. We have defeated every geopolitical force that was working against God’s plans – such as fascism, communism, Japanese Shintoism, and Islamic goals to dominate the world. All of these are just Satan’s attempts to defeat God. We have been a force for good in these last days and the devil understands that if he is to have any chance of victory – America must be brought down. Just as Balaam in Israel’s history understood, Satan knows the only way to do it is to remove America from its relationship with God.

“But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.” – Revelation 2:14

So, we have our Balaams also. They are fostering the sexual revolution and breakdown of morals. They encourage the destruction of the family, a foundational stone of every social order, by giving us no-fault divorce and permeating our entertainment with role models that glorify sex and adultery, or passing welfare programs that remove the father from the family. They pass and promote laws that encourage aberrant sex and ridicule any who dare to stand against it.

President Barack Obama said the decision to direct public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms of their choice was based on the law and the best interests of the children.

Obama cares nothing for the best interests of the children or he wouldn’t push this doorway to hell on our children. I guarantee he will not subject his children to these schools. Like Balaam of old, his goal is to bring down the United States of America! Of course, he has many allies in this, both Democrats and Republicans. Some of them don’t fully understand what is at stake or maybe they are trapped themselves in the bondage it represents.

But, my message is basically not political, but rather one of hope. If you are caught in these deceptions – there is a way out. Jesus can set you free. And I want you to know that homosexual, lesbian, or transgender lifestyles are no worse than any other sins that plague mankind. Lying, thievery, or gluttony will end you in hell just as fast.

The Acceptable Year that Jesus began to proclaim is still here but, it quickly drawing to a close. If you are tired of the bondage of your sin or if you have been deceived into thinking there is no hope for you, I have good news – Jesus tore down the gates of hell for you. He can set you free. He is the same today as He ever was and there is yet hope for you because he loves you. To gain your freedom and enter into life you just need to humble yourself, ask God for forgiveness, and confess that Jesus can set you free. As a final step, join King David in praying this simple prayer –

“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” – Psalm 51:7-12

As believers we are to be lights in a dark world so, don’t be afraid to share this message with those who need it.
