The sixth seal begins the countdown to the end, so to speak. It is not the end, but it is announcing the beginning of the end. Notice the signs are all natural in nature:

1. a Great Earthquake
2. the Sun is eclipsed (unexpected, I think)
3. the Moon is eclipsed, become red as blood (again, unexpected I think)
4. many Stars appear to fall to the earth
5. the very heaven will appear to be rolled up like a scroll
6. many Mountains and Islands appear to move out of place.

Now earthquakes are normal but, this earthquake will be unnatural, almost world-wide in nature. The Sun and the Moon periodically are eclipsed as well but, this event will be unexpected and unnatural as well, so much so, that it will put the ‘fear of God’ even into the wicked on the earth. Men are already preparing to go underground in fear of nuclear war or asteroid collisions so, one can only imagine what fearful results these signs will have –

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” – Revelation 6:15-17

The ungodly people, atheist, and lukewarm Christians will admit God is real and His wrath is real. They know right from wrong for it is embedded in their spirits, no matter how much they deny it. When the 6th seal is opened, their paradigm will be shaken and they will acknowledge something bigger than their world view is at work!

This fearful sequence of signs should not be unexpected because God has been sending warning signs since 2010 (see Signs in the heavens and The Sky is Changing ). In 2014 and 2015 Blood Red Moon Tetrads appeared on Feast Days of Passover and Tabernacles giving further warning of things to come (a very rare occurrence). In September, 2017 the Sign of Virgo pictured in Revelation 12 will occur first the first time in history. In all these, God is giving ample warning of things soon to come.

If the mysterious Planet X does appear in October of 2017 as predicted, it would produce the effects prophesied in the 6th seal: earth’s poles would shift, causing tidal shifts and roaring waves, Planet X’s gravity would pull many asteroids into our atmosphere causing many ‘shooting stars’, it will come between the Sun and the Moon causing an eclipse of both the Sun and the Moon, the nearness of this large mass will cause gravitational pulls resulting in earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. Since this event has not happened in recorded history men will no doubt be in great fear.

God is the One who created all things, contrary to what evolutionists teach, and He certainly could use things He set in motion from the beginning of time to fulfill His word but, He could also do it another way. He is not limited, as we are! However God chooses to fulfill His word, the warning is clear – He is about to bring to a close the time He has given mankind.

The 6th seal only has a few more things to fulfill and then the 7th seal will be opened which will begin the seven angels with trumpets pouring out the wrath of God Almighty on the wicked. When the 7th angel sounds time will be no more.

“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.” – Revelation 10:5-7

But, before the 7th seal is opened, God sets a seal on all those who are faithful to Him on the earth –

“Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” – Revelation 7:3

Scripture next identifies 144,000 of the tribes of Israel that are sealed, which has led some to hypothesize that the Church must be gone from the earth at this time but, that is not what the text says.

“And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.” – Revelation 7:4

It does not tell us the total of all them sealed, only that 144,000 of Israel were sealed. While John does not tell us the total of them sealed, he does want us to know that Israel is not forsaken, as some ‘replacement theology’ proponents would like us to believe. God is faithful to the promises He made to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. The total number of those sealed was obviously much more than 144,000 as the Apostle Paul tells us that all who are born again have been sealed –

“Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” – 2 Corinthians 1:22

“And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” – Ephesians 4:30

We are told that these make up a great multitude –

“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;” – Revelation 7:9

Many today will say, “But these are those who have enjoyed a pre-tribulation rapture.” however, Scripture tells us differently –

“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”– Revelation 7:14

It is clear that some of them at least endured ‘great tribulation’ for they have come out of (out of, from, by, away from – Strong’s) great tribulation. Later in chapter 12 we are told that these saints overcame the devil and his Antichrist by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony – so, they obviously faced the Antichrist during the great tribulation.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” – Revelation 12:11

The palms they hold are the symbols of victory. Before God reveals the terrible events that are to come in the end of days, He first reminds us that there will be victory for those faithful to God until the end. He will indeed clothe us with the garments of salvation and the robes of righteousness as He promised in Isaiah 61:10.

“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” – Isaiah 61:10
