Family is one of the greatest blessings God has given to mankind. It is the bedrock of all mankind’s endeavors. Even if you are single, you had a father and a mother. Even if you do not appreciate them, yet they have their influence on your life and through your life on many others lives as well. A broken family line only takes one link in the chain turning to God to recapture God’s plans for your family – you.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” – Eph. 2:10

Family is so important to God that He assigns the great work of restoration of family to one of the end-time prophets – Elijah:

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” – Malachi 4:4,5

I know one of the devil’s prime works is to disrupt and destroy the family because he knows that a family united in God’s love is an unbeatable foe. I and my wife of 59 years have been blessed with eight children and over 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren and the number is growing! It was not because we were so good or great but because God is so good and great. Each of my offspring is special having their own personalities and talents and their future holds the promise of much more as they endeavor to find God’s way for them. Meanwhile, my wife and I sit back and enjoy the rewards! That is the way God designed it and is part of the ‘good works’ God ordained for each of us.
