“Arise, shine;  For your light has come!
And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” – Isa. 60:1-3

As we approach a New Year, 2018, remember that 2017 was a Jubilee Year and the next year marks something new. As Pentecost came on the 50th year and the next year marked the year of the beginning of the Church Age, so this next year, 2018, should mark a renewed beginning of spiritual life in the Church. The prophet Isaiah predicted these days – “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people;” but, the LORD has an answer – “Arise, shine;  For your light has come! The LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light.” 

As Pentecost came right when it appeared the enemy was winning, even so, just as when it seems the forces of darkness, liberalism, and hatred of God are winning in our day, God is going to unleash the power of a Spirit filled Church to shine forth. And darkness can never stand against Light! Let those believers who have been ‘worn down’ by the constant onslaught of the spirit of Antichrist take new hope – Arise Shine! because your light has come! The ‘new man’ Jesus died for is beginning to form before our very eyes and the gates of hell will not stand before him. The message of the Gospel of the kingdom of God is going forth in this new year like a trumpet blast that will shake the very core of Satan’s dominion.

Liberal college teachers spouting their socialistic and communistic doctrines are going to be confronted by young people whose hearts have been set ablaze by the Holy Spirit, hate filled groups like Black Lives Matter are going to be confronted by a love filled message that every life matters to God! All the political parties making false accusations, doing the work of the devil for him, are going to be confronted with TRUTH! Something that scares most of Washington and the news media to death.

It is a new day of restoration, a day when God’s people restore truth and light. God is inviting all who will to join Zion (God’s people) to come. This is the time to cast off fear, slavery to sin, oppression of the devil, a day to walk into the light – all who will are invited.
