Daniel predicted the final satanic kingdom on earth would resemble 10 toes of iron mingled with clay – are they forming now? I believe they are. We know them as the EU, but very few understand the history of the EU. Remember, since Rome, most of the would-be empires that wanted to rule the world came out of Europe: Rome, Charlemagne and the Holy Roman Empire, Napoleon, and Hitler. While they are not the only ones seeking such power, they were certainly among the most successful. I believe they are the predecessors of the final kingdom Daniel described. Also remember Satan knows few things influence man more than money and religion, and his final kingdom will be a mixture of them both. The EU is built on both. It is why John describes this final kingdom as the False Harlot (the false church) riding the Beast in Revelation 17:2-6. Daniel further writes –

“Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” – Dan. 7:23-25

From Rome to Charlemagne to the EU

As I wrote in Where is America in Prophecy, I believe the EU will become the Holy Roman Empire once again. We must remember that the devil is patient and he has been working toward this goal for a long time – ever since the 1st century. I wrote about the beginning of the current EU in a previous article titled From Ancient Rome until WWI. Daniel is describing events that will happen in these days.

 From its beginning the EU was heavily influenced and directed by the Catholic Church. The Pan-European Union is responsible for the 12 stars on a blue ground as the official symbol for Europe, which symbolizes the stars of the Virgin Mary.

According to Daniel, the final Beast kingdom will manifest as iron mixed with clay, political and religious. Ten kings (nations) will give their support to this union but, in the process, three kings (nations) will be replaced by one. This has happened! Belgian, Netherlands and Luxembourg were joined into a single group called Benelux.

A Benelux Parliament (originally referred to as an “Interparliamentary Consultative Council”) was created in 1955. This parliamentary assembly is composed of 21 members of the Dutch parliament, 21 members of the Belgian national and regional parliaments, and 7 members of the Luxembourg parliament.

I think it is interesting that if you combine 3 stars of the EU flag into 1, you end up with the number 10. Benelux headquarters are in Brussels Belgium, which is where the EU headquarters are also located.

Well, to finish this lesson pay attention to the strong influence the EU already has on Israel and the United States. Even Supreme Court Justices use it to interpret American law – “Justice Ginsburg comes out strongly in favor of the Court’s use of foreign and international law materials to interpret U.S. law, including the Constitution.”  The Quartet has a powerful say in dividing God’s Land to form a Palestinian State. And a key member of the Quartet is the EU. There is no denying the strong influence the EU’s currency, the Euro, has on the economy. And since the Pope is so joined with the EU, they also have strong influence on American religion. No wonder President Trump disturbs these one-world advocates!

Jesus devoted two chapters of His revelation to John to this great whore that rides the beast – we need to study, pray, and act accordingly –

“And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. … And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.“ – Rev. 17:5 – 18:4
