The New Land of Egypt – the World
“For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.
But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’
Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward. Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.” – Jer. 7:22-26
When many think of the story of the Exodus of the Hebrew children from Egypt they think of the many miracles and the Law that was given by Moses. But few think of the purpose why God brought them out – it was to obey and follow Him in all their ways. Yet God does not hide from us the result of the miracles and great deliverance He did for them – RELIGION! Religion is often man’s attempt to please God by his own imagination and works but without giving God the one thing He desired – man’s heart! Now religious works can be good but, without the heart yielded to God, they are worthless.
Paul writes to the Corinthians about these events of the Exodus –
“Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” – 1 Cor. 10:11
As we witness end-time events happening around the world, we must not forget the lessons to be learned from these early believers. Because they did not learn them, that whole generation perished in the wilderness and never saw the Promised Land (except for a handful). If we do not learn, the same fate will await us. The difference is, in this end of the ages everything is magnified – now Egypt is the entire world and the Promised Land is not a strip of land in the Middle East – it is heaven itself!
The Church of Jesus Christ was not fully formed until Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to change men’s hearts and teach and direct their ways. A favorite saying in the Book of Acts is “It seemed good to us and the Holy Spirit”. But, in many of today’s churches, the Holy Spirit could be dead and no one would miss Him. They have their rituals to salve their consciences and their tithing to satisfy their perceived obligation to God. Like Jeremiah prophesied many have “followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.” How do I know this is true? The answer is simple – there is no repentance. The altars are empty and the nations are still in darkness. The Catholics, Episcopals and Lutherans have their liturgical rituals. The Evangelical and Pentecostal services are just as predictable but in the New Testament Church whenever the Holy Spirit moved predictable order was upset. When was the last time your church service was upset?
Jesus dictated letters to seven churches that predicted in Revelation 2 and 3 what the end-time Church would look like to Him . Some are so busy doing what they perceived as God’s work, legalistically testing other church ministries, but they had left their first love of Jesus. Some were small and poor and were suffering for their stand for Jesus but they were faithful even to death. Some live where Satan’s throne is and have succumbed to Balaam’s doctrine allowing impurity into the church. Some have allowed a spirit of Jezebel into their church allowing women pastors which God forbids. Some make a big name for themselves appearing to be alive, but Jesus said they were dead. TV can make anything look good to the eye but God judges by the heart. Then there are some who take God at His word – all of it – and are sincerely trying to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading. They will be given protection through the great tribulation that is coming. Then there are churches that follow the Lord half-heartedly, liking the benefits of Christianity but not willing to pay the price of it. They only take stands that will not cost them members or income and are safe. They surrender their most precious gifts, their children, to the altars of Baal in the public school system and never take a strong stand against evolution, divorce, abortion, sexual immorality, or humanism that are taught there.
End time signs and warnings given by Jesus abound ever since the year 2000 but, are they having any lasting affect on the Church of Jesus?
Wars and rumors of wars abound. Famines and pestilences and earthquakes all mark the beginnings of sorrows.
We are told of signs in the heavens, the great increase of false prophets, and the mystery of the fig tree blooming – which is Israel.
Remember, a false prophet can be one who mixes falsehood with truth or tells just a part of the truth. Under this definition we can see the Church is full of false prophets today.
God is speaking today as much as He did to the Hebrew children of old, in fact more so. He did not give 4 blood red moon tetrads to them and He did not give the fulfilling of the sign of Virgo to them. He did not give to them the sign of the Gospel being preached to all the nations as He has to us. And perhaps the greatest sign is that of the Fig Tree – Israel. They are back in the land, they now have Jerusalem. They are the focus of the world’s hatred. The true location of the ancient Temple of Solomon is about to be revealed and preparations for the third Temple are being lain. All this is preparing the way for the Antichrist to set up his Abomination that Desolates that will initiate the 3½ years of Great Tribulation. God is not only speaking – He is SHOUTING!
Those who are listening are praying the prayer of King David –
“Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” – Psalm 51:11,12
Are you?
