Last April I wrote an article named The Great Transformation in which I talked about truth, and by truth I mean God’s truth – not what man today calls truth, which is often just based on humanistic reasoning. In this article I will cover many of the same topics but, expand on them. I want to do this because the devil and the spirit of Antichrist are masters at twisting truth. Remember, the definition of iniquity is twisting the truth.
My articles concentrate on truth because God’s truth is the only way to set anyone truly free. Not long ago we celebrated the feast of Passover, which all about freedom from slavery but, Jesus taught that he who sins is a slave to sin. What good is it to be freed from Egypt if the sins of Egypt are still in your heart? We have all struggled with this battle and have all fallen to the temptations of Egypt (the world). But, that doesn’t negate the power of the blood of the Lamb to do it’s work of deliverance when mixed with faith and obedience because God stands behind that Lamb! And He revealed the secret of overcoming the sin –
“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” – Rom. 8:29
This means we are to think like Jesus thought, to act like Jesus acted, and to work like Jesus worked. How did Jesus so perfectly follow His Fathers commands? He did it by the Holy Spirit and obedience. He walked by the Spirit always doing what the Holy Spirit directed Him to do. When He spoke, it was to say what He heard His Father say and when He worked it was to do what His Father commanded.
Now you may think, “Yes, but Jesus was perfect, how can I do this?” Because we are predestined to be this way and to accomplish it God sent the same Holy Spirit to us to help us that Jesus had –
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. … And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.“ – Rom. 8:26-28

DNA – Designed to know Almighty God
Does it seem strange to believe that we are predestined to follow God? Well, most of our human traits were set in motion by a DNA strand from our birth. The Apostle Paul wrote about this –
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” – Rom. 1:17-21
Many today are enthralled by the occultist power of Harry Potter or the Force of the Star Wars saga (which are satanic counterfeits) so why should it be surprising that God, the true Creator, has hidden mystical abilities in His highest creation – mankind. They are locked in our DNA and released by the power of faith in God.
Remember, the devil is a copycat and he can do nothing that God has not already done. Here is the great danger of our age, man (under the influence of demon spirits) is trying to modify the human DNA and will destroy mankind’s humanism. This is what happened in Noah’s day by the fallen sons of God and their nephilim offspring.
When an honest person looks at what God expects of us and then examines his or her failures, the natural action is to give up trying, but God has a answer for us all –
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. … And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.“ – Rom. 8:26-28
You may yet bear the scars of your rebellion and sin and I’m sure the devil reminds you often of your failures but, remember the devil’s goal is to get you to give up and stop trusting in God’s promise to conform you to the image of His Son. If you have accepted Jesus’ forgiveness and the Holy Spirit then, you should know that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world!
Paul’s answer to this, no matter what your past may have been, is love the truth and remember Jesus is the truth!
“Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.” – 2 Thes. 2:15
The world and its kingdoms cannot stand the truth, which always testifies about God. The world will resist the truth and try to destroy it and those who stand for it. And while many churches today are forsaking the Christian traditions of yesteryear, I encourage you to hold fast to them. The true Church is not some organization, it is people. The Church is not Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Pentecostal, Baptist, or any other ist – it is people who have given their life to Jesus and are filled with the Holy Spirit to enable them to follow God.
And remember, God has not forsaken the Old Testament just because we have the New Testament. Jesus did not come to replace the Old Testament but to ‘fulfill’ it. You cannot understand the ‘traditions’ Paul is speaking about in this verse without knowing the Old Testament. These traditions are not man made but God given truths.
This age is fast closing and I encourage you and myself to stand fast and trust God’s word to transform us into the image of His Son.
