In a recent article (The Hour of Trial-it’s coming) I referred to turmoil that will be unleashed on the earth as God separates the sheep from the goats. Revelation reveals how to be kept from this time of trial –

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”– Rev. 3:10

This was the promise to the Church of Philadelphia but, why are they the only one of seven churches to be given this promise? Jesus Himself gives this answer –

“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength (they were not spiritual giants), and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.“ – Rev. 3:8

They kept His word and did not deny His name!

Here we have a serious problem because many calling themselves Christian today don’t know what the words of Jesus are – let alone keep them! The Apostle Paul gives a stern warning that most pay little attention to –

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” – 2 Cor. 11:4 KJV

Many churches today gloss over sin, teach little about repentance, and blatantly accept ideas God calls abominations. Some teach there are many ways to God or deny the gifts of the Spirit are for today. The spirit of Jezebel is alive and well in many denominations as well. There is a big difference between just saying the ‘sinners prayer’ and following Jesus! I want to include in this article two messages by different preachers that highlight this problem in the church. They are excellent truth and I hope you receive them and apply them to your life, as I must to mine.

This is the most serious message any of us could receive. As we witness many end time signs that Jesus foretold actually appearing, the most urgent truth is – are we prepared? Many that think they are Christian have been deceived into following a different Gospel or another Jesus. The spirit of Antichrist is so active that Jesus wondered if He would find faith when He came back!

” … I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” – Luke 18:8 NIV
