The Meaning of End Time Signs

We have been seeing signs in the heavens for several years now warning us of the lateness of the hour. The following video gives us a thumbnail view of the message of Revelation 12.

There were 1260 days between the beginning of the Blood Red Moon Tetrad and the fulfillment of the Virgo sign, or 3½ years, a significant time in Daniel’s 70 week prophesy and the Book of Revelation. There were also 7 years between the fulfillment of the Virgo sign and the Taurus sign, also a significant time in Daniel’s prophesy. Also, the Virgo and Draco signs fulfilled the Revelation 12 sign of the Woman and sign of the great Red Dragon.

“Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. “ – Rev. 12:1-5

These first five verses of Revelation 12 have all been fulfilled in the first coming of Jesus. The woman clothed with the Sun and the Moon under her feet having a garland of 12 stars on her head remind us of the dream of Joseph and represents the nation of Israel  –

“Then he (Joseph) dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.” – Gen. 37:9

The woman is about to give birth and the Dragon is standing before her to devour her child (as Herod did to Jesus). This child (Jesus) was caught up to God and His Throne.

“Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” – Acts 1:9-11

heavenly-warfareThe first 5 verses of Revelation 12 have been fulfilled but, there seems to be a gap between verse 5 and 6. Verse 6 opens a scenario that happens at the end of the age. There is war in the heavens and the Devil looses and is cast to the earth. Then two happenings take place; (1) great rejoicing in heaven for the accuser of the brethren is cast down and (2) woe to the inhabitants of the earth and sea for the devil has come down to you having great wrath because he knows that he has only a short time!

Now when the Devil is cast down, his war is with two groups; (1) those who are trusting in the power of Christ and, (2) those who make up the woman (Israel). He first makes war with the woman who is protected by God and given a place of safety in the wilderness (this is written about in the prophesy of Bozrah). He then turns against the offspring of the woman (those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ). But, they overcome him –

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” – Rev. 12:11

Revelation 12 gives us a thumbnail sketch of the end times and we have seen our enemy will be cast down. We have also seen that two groups will be aligned against him, Israel and the Church. This is the mystery of the Gospel that Paul writes about in Ephesians –

“This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.” – Eph. 3:6

 “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the twothus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.” – Eph. 2:14-16

Those who ‘have the testimony of Jesus Christ‘ will include both Jew and Gentile but, those that are in the woman will be the remnant of Jews that have not accepted Jesus yet. As they go into the wilderness and are protected by God, the blindness will be removed and they will see Him who they pierced and turn to him to be united in His Body.

How then shall we, who have the testimony of Jesus live in this present age? Paul answers that question –

Let your light shine

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light  (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. … Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” – Eph. 5:8-16

There should be a difference between the ‘children of light‘ and the world. They should not be caught up in materialism. Their politics should reflect righteousness and not worldliness. Their God should not be their belly, as Paul warned, caring about things that

please the flesh rather than please the Lord. Above all, they should endeavor to keep the word of God, all of it, and not cave in to the politically correct notions of the day. They should not be as Chelsea Clinton who claimed “As a deeply religious person, it’s very unchristian to suggest we have to believe in God, study His Word, and allow those things to influence our opinions and positions on things like abortion.”

Paul writes that those who live this way will not inherit the kingdom of God –

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” – 1 Cor. 6:9,10

So, as we see these signs of the Lord’s soon return, we should all the more heed His last words to us –

“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” – Luke 21:36
