Is the ‘One New Man’ Forming?

jesus-among-the-lampstandsOne sign that we are nearing the end of the age is the joining of Jew and Gentile in the Body of Christ. As Paul wrote to the Ephesians –

“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;” – Eph. 2:11-19

A recent PEW study of Israeli millennials had some surprising results.

A story in God Reports also highlights this change in Jews becoming believers in Jesus.

More and more Jews finding Jesus in IsraelOCTOBER 10 2018

“The First Wave of Jews coming to Jesus hit in the 1970s in America. The Second Wave were Russian Jews in the 1990s. And now – in what some observers call a Third Wave – Jews in Israel are coming to faith in increasing numbers.

“I have never seen the breakthrough like we’re seeing now,” said Tuvya Zaretsky, chairman of the board for the Israel branch of Jews for Jesus. “We’re seeing a steady stream of Israelis who are coming to Jesus from all walks of life, though usually among the young. There seems to be a greater openness to spiritual input. We’re thinking it’s a Third Wave of in-gathering.”

The parents of Shmuel Salway immigrated with his family from India and now the 42-year-old is associate pastor of the Adonai Roi congregation, which has functioned in Tel Aviv for 19 years. It’s now a church of 100 members.

“We just had five baptisms last month,” Salway said. “The Jews are coming back to the land, and they’re coming to know the Messiah. We’re living in prophetic times. I believe Yeshua will come back in our lifetime. He’ll come back when many more Jews come to Messiah and cry out ‘Baruch Haba B’Shem Adonai‘ – Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.”

revelation12_14In the Revelation 12 prediction of the end days Satan comes against the reformed nation of Israel to destroy it but, she is given help from a great eagle and flown into the wilderness to a place prepared for her, a place of safety from all the devil wants to do to her (see The Mystery of the Eagle). Satan, enraged with the woman, then turns to make war with the ‘rest of her offspring – those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.’ This war will rage on for 3½ years. I believe the woman;s offspring who hold the testimony of Jesus are the ‘one new man’ Paul speaks of – Jews and Gentiles who embrace Jesus as their Messiah.

The Jews who escape into the wilderness will be the remnant of Israel that have not accepted Jesus as their Messiah yet. But, during this experience in the wilderness will come to accept Him whom they have longed for. This is spoken of in Micah’s Bozrah prophesy.

As we near the end, all that is written in Scripture will be fulfilled. The One New Man will become a reality. It will be final fulfillment of the Cross of Jesus. But, according to the prophet Zechariah two thirds of the Jews will perish (Zech. 13:8) and only few of those claiming to be Christians will be saved, as Jesus said “many are called but few are chosen”. Therefore, we should be like Paul who struggled to be approved. It is time to set our eyes on heavenly things and not on worldly things. It is time to ask the Holy Spirit to fill us again and obey Him when he speaks to us.
