This will be the third article I have written concerning the passing of my wife and my son Israel. I am finishing this song of mourning on a note of joy because of what my Savior has done for me and my family. The Apostle Paul quotes Isaiah –
“There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Rom. 15:12,13
God has blessed us in so many ways, even in the midst of suffering as He has given us His Son, who suffered for us and made a way for to return to our home, our true destination. One of the ways He has blessed me is He has given me children and Grandchildren who love and honor Him. I want to share the message of one of them as he explains the song he wrote for his dad and indeed, for all who face the struggles in this life.
The song This is the Morning by Day of Eternity
This song represents the hope of all of us as we will all face this battle with death at some point in our lives. While we are unable to defeat death in our own strength, there is One who has defeated Death on our behalf. As King David wrote –
“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” – Ps. 126:2
Jesus has been given the keys to death and hell and He will one day cast them both into the lake of fire.
“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” – Rev. 1:18
There is coming a final judgment in which we will judged before God by our works –
“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” – Rev. 20:12-15
How sad for anyone whose name is not entered in the Lord’s Book of Life, especially when He has provided everything we need already. All we have to do is turn toward Him and receive Him. I pray you have done this and if not, I strongly urge you to do so while there is yet time.
