The Apostle Peter wrote –

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” – 1 Pet. 4:7,8

As we see many of the end-time events taking place around the world, it is good to remember these words: “be serious and watchful in your prayers and above all else have fervent love for one another”. Peter saw in the Spirit that the end of all things is at hand but, that was 2000 years ago so what is the delay? Peter foresaw this delay and wrote about it as well –

“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Pet. 3:8,9

God has not been slack, He has been bringing the message of salvation to the world and bringing the nation of Israel back to the land and Jerusalem. And now we see the rebellious nations of the world challenging this and preparing for war with Israel, really with God. All things that God ever said are being fulfilled right on time – His time! And remember one of the last things to happen is war in the heavens when Satan is cast down to the earth –

“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” – Rev. 12:7-9

Then the devil will have great wrath because he knows his time is short and he turns his hatred for God against the tiny nation of Israel and the saints of God but, God gives Israel a place of safety in the wilderness (Rev. 12:14-17) and He gives the saints victory as they overcome Satan by the “blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and they love not their lives even unto death” (Rev. 12:11).

At some point in this final struggle the Lord returns just as He said He would.

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” – Rev. 1:7,8

He was at the beginning establishing the universe, this solar system, the earth and all the living upon it. He set it all in motion with a full proof plan for man’s salvation. He was slain before the foundation of the world knowing He would have to redeem mankind with His blood.

“All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” – Rev. 13:8

Yes, He was at the beginning and He will be at the end as well. Don’t be so quick to write off the Biblical account of Creation – it is true. Evolution is an unproven theory but God’s word is proven every day to be true. Those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life are those who accept Him as the Beginning and the End, and everything in between! They are those who believe His word and the Creation as well.

As Peter wrote so long ago – “But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another”. One thing Satan does not have is love and the closer he comes to being thrown down to earth the more he will attack true love. And remember true love covers a multitude of sins. Don’t take offense at anything your brother or sister says but be quick to forgive – don’t give the devil an advantage over you. He only wants to divide. He is like the wolf who divides his prey away from the herd, where it is weaker. Maintain fellowship and all the more as we see the Day approaching.
