Students Brushed Aside as Christian School Cut From Voucher Program

When the state of Maryland found out that Bethel Christian Academy affirms the biblical view of marriage in its student handbook, officials last fall cut the Baltimore-area school from a state-sponsored school voucher program, arguing it practiced sexual discrimination. They dared to state their belief in the Biblical definition of marriage in writing –

“It should be noted, however, that Bethel Christian Academy supports the biblical view of marriage defined as a covenant between one man and one woman, and that God immutably bestows gender upon each person at birth as male or female to reflect His image.  (Gen. 1:27, Gen. 2:23-24) “

Baltimore Maryland is one of the most dis functional cities in the United States and yet they are denying school choice funds to a school that offers hope to students to escape the moral and economic poverty that festers in the city.

America is reacting to its recent shootings with cries for more gun control and blame for President Trump and yet information from the two most recent shootings reveal the source of the violence to be different. The Dayton Shooter’s Twitter Account Includes Pro-Antifa, Pro-Gun Control Comments, all progressive attitudes. While the El Paso Terrorist Is a Hardcore Progressive and White Nationalist: Wants Universal Income And Universal Healthcare, again all progressive attitudes. But, Democrats want to move us more toward the progressiveness of socialism. Democrat Congresswoman Veronica Escobar holds a news conference telling President Trump he’s not welcome in El Paso as if he is the problem.  Presidential hopeful Joe Biden accuses Trump of ‘white nationalist statements and racist statements lying to CNN about it. The Bible expressly speaks to us about these actions –

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,” – 1 Tim. 4:1,2

I don’t see Christian protesters or marchers espousing violence or breaking windows and setting fires but I do see those progressives who are marching for socialism and communism  and homosexuality doing it. So, who is the real espousor of violence?

I laud Bethel Christian Academy and all those who are not afraid to declare their belief in God’s words. We are standing against the unpure, against those who are “idle talkers and deceivers”, as Titus puts it.

“To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.” – Titus 1:15,16

So what is the answer to all the lawlessness, rebellion, and violence that we see in our country? The answer is written plainly in God’s word –

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” – Titus 2:11-14

God’s word is like a lighthouse, shinning in the storm. If we will heed it, our ship can be saved from the storm we are in.
