The Bible tells the story of Peter and John speaking to the Pharisees, the rulers, elders, and scribes about Jesus. They said –
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
This disturbed them because hey knew it was true but they didn’t want to hear it so, they said –
“But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.” – Acts 4:17
In other words, don’t mention the name of Jesus or God anymore! Now these men were the teachers of their day and they were saying don’t talk about Jesus any more. Now I would expect such rhetoric to be heard in Saudi Arabia or Iran or Algeria but not in the
United states. But that is exactly what is being said in some American schools as they push their anti-Christian Humanistic philosophy today. Parents at McCordsville Elementary School are furious over a 1st-grade teacher sending students home with a letter demanding the kids stop mentioning “God”, “Jesus”, or praying on school property. Nothing however, is said about Muslim students mentioning Allah. Such actions are crazy considering over 5 public schools have already installed special prayer rooms for Muslim Students, and the law forces schools in Michigan to let students pray to Allah 5 times a day. Yet, no such considerations or accommodations are offered to Christian children these days. This teacher needs a lesson in our Constitution again, or at least in the First Amendment –
“The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws which respect an establishment of religion, prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, … “
This teacher is either a Muslim convert or a follower of Barak Obama. She is certainly related in spirit to the Pharisees of Jesus’ day.
What should we say to all such attacks of those led by the spirit of Antichrist? We should say exactly what Peter and John said –
“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” – Acts 4:19,20
And I suggest we go much further and attend the school board meetings and make your voice heard. And if need be re-elect new school board members, and if need be new legislators and governors as well. We are still the majority in this country and it is time we start acting like it.
