Let us Begin to Follow the Plan

As our country is under attack from Covid19 and those who would prosper from it by bringing down the economy of our country and by depressing our God-given freedoms; such as freedom to freely move, gather together, and even to worship. Now they are attacking our electoral system fostering ‘voting by distance’ otherwise known as ‘mail-in voting’, which is fraught with fraud. They have also unleashed the spirit of lawlessness with riots, burning, and murders on the land. All to bring down our divinely inspired Republic and replace it with Marxism in the form of Democratic Socialism. All over the land people are asking “What can we do?” Among the myriad of answers is one that shines with wisdom – “Seek the Lord!” But how? Seeking the Lord is more than just words for even Jesus explained this –

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” – Matt. 7:21-23

I believe King David gives us the answer to seeking the Lord. David asks,  “LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?” He then gives the answer

“He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;” – Psalm 15:2

One who seeks the Lord must walk uprightly according to all God’s laws. He must work righteousness, that means he must do more than just talk, he must act. Scripture says Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. To believe is to act on that belief. And then he must speak the truth in his heart. That means he must let the truth of God rule in his inner most being, at his core. That kind of truth will lead us to repentance because we are as Isaiah declared –

“But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.” – Isa. 64:6

left wing agendaWhy is this wickedness unleashed on our land? There are several reasons but, mostly because we are wicked ourselves. The spirit of lawlessness finds a home in those who are lawless. How so, you ask? The list is too long to innumerate here but I will give you just a few. The country, both civil and religious, has embraced the concept of divorce which according to Scripture, God hates! It has destroyed the American family and God loves family. Next comes the sin of abortion which we have codified into law. This directly denies God, Who is the author of life and says Thou shalt not murder! Finally, the land has adopted the false theory of Evolution which denies God as the Creator, denies the concept of sin and therefore the need of a Savior. It is the foundational doctrine of Marxism, Socialism, and Atheism, all founded and promoted by the spirit of Antichrist.

So, how can we cleanse ourselves from these ‘filthy rags’ of our own iniquity? We must return to who God made us to be, our personal creation – as King David wrote –

Baby-boy“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. … Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” – Psalm 139:13-17

God knew all about you before you were even born. He saw your future before it existed and He wrote it all in a book in heaven. His plans for our life are all good. Paul writes that God “blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.” (Eph. 1″3, 4). He also wrote –

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” – Eph. 2:10

But the truth is none of us have fully embraced this truth and we are not walking according to God’s plan for our lives. And the day is soon coming when we all have to stand before Him and give an answer.

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” – Rev. 20:12

But, God knows our frailty and He has made a way for us, if we will take it before it is too late.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” – Eph. 2:4-9

If we repent of our sins and turn to Jesus, Who alone can forgive us, then His righteousness will be counted as ours. Our belief in Him will be counted to us as righteousness just as it was for Abraham. We can then begin to live and walk out the plans God wrote for each of us in our heavenly book. And we can say with Isaiah –

“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” – Isa. 61:10
