Walking Through the Land

In the early hours of this morning, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said “Arise and walk through the land!” He asked “What did you see?” and I said, “I see people going about their lives, working, shopping, playing, and watching entertainment.” Then I entered the churches of the land and He again asked, “What did you see?” In some churches I saw the preacher up front and the people sitting in the pews but, the people seemed to be asleep as the preacher seemed to be telling them fairy tales. In other churches there seemed to be a celebration going on with loud music and lights leading the people who were dancing and happily enjoying all the noise. In a few churches I saw the minister up front with his Bible open and he was calling the  people to repent and receive the Lord. I saw the people in tears, kneeling, and worshiping the Lord.

As I continued to walk, I saw children living in broken homes. They were joining gangs, looking for some sense of belonging. School had become their only stable point of reference, even though it was teaching them lies. I saw fathers sitting in bars talking with their friends. I saw mothers crying and laden down with financial and social concerns, worrying about their children and no one was helping them.

The Holy Spirit then reminded me of the words of Jesus,

“And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” – Luke 17:26-30

They were blinded by the god of this world to the wickedness all around them. And if they saw it, they thought it did not affect them. Many churches are ‘lukewarm’ like the church of Laodocia (Rev. 3:14), satisfied with themselves, having lost the moving of the Holy Spirit so they substitute liturgies to remind them of what they once had. Some churches were more concerned with numbers and growth and so forsake the preaching against sin, substituting a message of ‘sloppy agape’ and ‘greasy grace’, which says God accepts you the way you are and He loves you in spite of your sins! But, what does Scripture say?

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations (an envious and contentious rivalry, jealousy), wrath, strife, seditions (dissension, division), heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” – Gal. 5:19-21

God calls us to repentance. He loves us the way we are but, when He calls us, He expects us to change and leave the ways of this world. Other churches were full of dancing and waving of hands to Hill Song type worship sessions. Now when the Holy Spirit is moving, worship and emotion are not wrong. But, when the Holy Spirit is not moving, it is just fleshly emotionalism. How do you know the Holy Spirit is there – truth will be coming forth. But, the Holy Spirit reminded me of what Isaiah had prophesied –

“And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.” – Isa. 59:14

Many of these people are living without knowledge of God’s commands and voting for wicked Democrat policies.

I felt the Holy Spirit telling me that a great shaking was coming to the churches and God was going to sweep the false chaff from His Church.

Next, I felt the heart-wrenching hurt that God felt over the broken families in the land. God is a family God. His first action after creating Adam was to  bring him a mate, a wife, and His first command to them was to be fruitful and multiply (Gen 1:28). God’s blessing was upon Abraham because he would raise his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” – Gen. 18:19

And yet many fathers have forsaken their duty to train up their children in the way of the Lord. They are absent fathers. They have given the precious heritage of children over to others and God cannot bless them as a result. Fathers, your responsibility is much more than providing a roof over your families head. It also involves spending time with your children, speaking to them about the Lord and His ways and protecting them from the onslaughts of Satan’s schemes. In the last days God promises to send Elijah and what will be his chief ministry?

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” – Mal. 4:5, 6

Also, the church is full of divorced people, people whom the devil has gotten the victory, people who have forsaken their covenant with God. It is not an unforgivable sin but it is certainly a grievous sin because of the damage Satan is able to do. The husband loses his opportunity to be a covering as Christ covers the Church, the wife is damaged emotionally and physically, and the children lose the sense of belonging, that nurture that comes from a father and a mother. In fact, the only one who wins is the devil! That is why God declares that He hates divorce.

“And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand. Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.” – Mal. 2:13-16

The Lord does not accept the concept of “No-fault Divorce”! There is so much involved with this action. It is one of the main reasons our prayers are not heard. It affects the godly seed (children) God looked forward to having and they are the true growth of any church. It robs the nation of stability, for any nation is no stronger than it’s families! It requires much healing and repentance and it steals a heritage from God that only comes from having children according to His plan.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” – Psa. 127:3-5

Friends, the time is short and there is much repentance to be done and much ‘turning back’ is needed. As we celebrate the Feast of Trumpets, let us remember it is a call to repent and turn back to God, for the Day of Judgement is soon upon us.
