The signs of the times are evident to those who know the Bible. The “mystery of lawlessness” is already at work, as the Apostle Paul wrote. And it is accompanied with the unrighteous deception of political correctness which redefines good as bad and bad as good. They chant ‘Black Lives Matter’ but they are OK with millions of black babies being aborted in their mother’s wombs. They yell and march and burn for ‘justice’ but they fail to realize that justice is based on truth. I came across a poster which I believe states God’s sentiments exactly. Sadly, the Democrat Party has adopted a pro-abortion platform, making them diametrically opposed to God. And they are doing this to gain power and a little money. But, they cannot see it because God has given them a “strong delusion that they should believe the lie.” And “they will be condemned because they did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness”. (2 Thes. 2:9-12).

Then there is the nation of Israel which God has set as an ensign, a flag waving to get the attention of the nations, God’s end time clock is ticking and the remaining time is short.

 “And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.” – Isa. 11:12

As Jesus was teaching about the end days, He referred to Israel as the ‘fig tree’ saying when you see the tree budding  “you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near.” and that the Kingdom of God is near. Then He said –

“Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.” – Luke 21:32

Now, in the Bible the term ‘generation’ can have several meanings. It can refer to all the people who see an event, or it can refer to a broad time in which something happens, Or it can refer to a specific length of time. As when David calculates a man’s life to be 70 or 80 years –

“The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” – Psalm 90:10

The nation of Israel just celebrated its 70th birthday since its founding (May 14, 1948) on April 14, 2018. If by reason of strength they are given 80 years, that fixes that date at 2028. We are about to enter 2021 so that will leave 7 years to go. Is it significant that 7 years is the length of the covenant the Antichrist confirms with Israel? Well, I am not a prophet but, as a teacher I can say the time is getting short!

So, what should we be doing to redeem the time we have left? I believe the prophet Malachi has the answer. He writes about these days we live in, “the great and dreadful day of the Lord.” He says  God is going to send the prophet Elijah and what will he do? “And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” God calls children, “His heritage” which is given to man and Elijah will remind all fathers of this truth. Each Father has a responsibility to instill this truth in their children. It is not the mother’s responsibility, it is the father’s! God is going to hold them responsible for their children. And God will help the fathers to do this! God will give them teaching tools: the Law of Moses.

“Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.” – Mal. 4:4

Horeb is the mountain where God gave the Ten Commandments which are God’s principles to live by. They are:

1. You shall have no other gods before Me – nothing shall have more importance than God.
2. You shall make no idols – not money, not politics, not sports, not pleasure, etc.
3. You shall not take the Name of the Lorde your God in vain – don’t proclaim to be Christian then act like the world!
4. Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy – believe the Genesis account of the Creation and give back to God one day to commune with Him.
5. Honor your Father and your Mother – this is the secret of long life, a happy family and a blessed nation.
6. You shall not murder – and that includes abortion.
7. You shall not commit adultery – honor your marriage vows and remember we are also married to God.
8. You shall not steal – this dishonors your neighbor.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor – truth brings justice.
10. You shall not covet – don’t look at other people instead look to God for your blessings.

Every life needs goals to aim for and these are the goals God has given to us. Jesus said He did not come to destroy the Law but to fulfill it. He fulfilled it by love and He gives that same love to everyone who repents and follows Him. Fathers, teach these things to your children and talk to them about the fear of the Lord and His mysteries. Malachi says –

“Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name.” – Mal. 3:16

Remind them that God is their Creator, as King David wrote –

“My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.” – Psalm 139:15, 16

Everyone one of us born on this earth has a plan for our lives, pre-written by God in a heavenly book before we were even born. One day we will stand before the Throne of God and give an answer for what we have done and how we measure up against this book of God’s plan for our lives.

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” – Rev. 20:12

The time is short and getting shorter rapidly. Take Malachi’s advice to heart and seek truth. And remember, Jesus said “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6).
