We have just passed through an election that was very revealing. First, it revealed the depth of deception to which we have fallen, depths of using machines to subvert the will of the people by changing votes that are tabulated from foreign countries. It showed the depths of deception that one entire political party (the Democrats) would stoop to just to win, even registering dead people to vote and printing fake ballots. Second, it revealed how corrupt the news media and courts are as they covered up the theft. Third, it revealed how spineless and fickle many Republicans are in the face of such obvious fraud. But, should we have been surprised? The foundation of any family or nation is its moral foundation. When that is corrupt, then corruption can and will invade all avenues of a society. This country’s morality is and has always been based in the Bible and Christianity, and that morality has all but vanished! The prophet Malachi spoke to the nation of Israel but, he could as well have been speaking to America as well.

“You have said, ‘It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, And that we have walked as mourners Before the LORD of hosts? So now we call the proud blessed, For those who do wickedness are raised up; They even tempt God and go free.’ ” – Mal. 3:14, 15

When politicians enrich themselves with ‘insider trading’ and corporations get laws passed to favor themselves, by brides and political payoffs, they are defying God and saying His justice is worthless. Haven’t you ever wondered why almost all the Senators are millionaires? Now God is not opposed to people gaining wealth if they do it righteously but, He is opposed to them gaining wealth if they cheat to do it! When they pass laws and exempt themselves from those laws, God calls that wickedness. When they have illegal sexual activities and raise up people like Harvey Weinstein and use taxpayer moneys to pay off the complainers, God calls that wickedness. And I could include Hollywood here as well. They flout their immorality around the world, tempting God, and we call them stars and listen to their pronouncements as if they were wise, when their foolishness is reaching to the heavens. Every time we pay to go to one of their movies, we are agreeing with their lifestyles.

Society has rejected God’s moral standards by allowing ‘no-fault’ divorce laws. And some churches are even teaching it is possible to have God’s Grace in your divorce!  But, we are throwing one of God’s most cherished institutions for mankind into the gutter with the trash and declaring that the family is foolishness. We are saying that our selfish desires are worth more than our children which are meant to be blessings from God. There is forgiveness for divorce if there is repentance, but that does not erase the hurt of divorce. That is why God says –

“And this is the second thing you do: You cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore, nor receive it with goodwill from your hands. Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant. But did He not make them one, having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. “For the LORD God of Israel says that He hates divorce, for it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.” – Mal. 2:13-16

It used to be that churches would not marry a divorced person but that standard has gone by the wayside now and has degraded into abortion as an easy way to erase the evidence of sexual miscalculation. But, it does not erase the mistake. God knows each of those precious babies. David wrote in Psalms –

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. and in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” – Psalm 139:16, 17

How dare any church or pastor speak out in favor of abortion or fail to speak against this wickedness! I tell you, that unless they repent God will remove their Lampstand from that church! (Rev. 2:5). As a society we have reached the level of ancient Israel, of whom the Bible says –

“And they caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.” – 2 Kings 17:17

They sacrificed their children and we are sacrificing our children to abortion. They practiced witchcraft and witchcraft is now rampant in the United States. They sold themselves to do wickedness and we have too. What was their outcome? God removed them from His sight.

Because we have ‘raised up those who do wickedness and allow those who tempt God to go free’ as Malachi said, this is what we have to look forward to –

“For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch.” – Mal. 4:1

But, didn’t we have many who were repenting and seeking the Lord before the election, you may ask. Yes, there was a remnant who did and God is not unfaithful to them –

“Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.” – Mal. 3:16-18

But, was it enough to turn the nation back in repentance? Only the future will show us.

We had better get over our pride and realize that God judges nations according to their actions. And while His judgment may be quick or be slow, it is sure!
