We now have a new President and Vice President and unless God does something supernaturally, all the prophets and voices we heard before the election got it wrong. Of course, God still can do something, as He is the God of the supernatural, but it won’t be through normal means. President Trump has given his farewell address and thanked his followers for their support. Could it be that too many of us were ‘looking for our Messiah to come in on Air Force One’, as I heard a popular preacher say? Is God’s plan dependent on who is in the Whitehouse? After all, God is the One who raises up one and puts down another at His will. Did the original Church thrive under good world governance, or did it change world governance? Scripture says, “It turned the whole world upside-down.” Paul wrote to the Philippian Church –

“that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life —” – Phil. 2:15, 16

Paul recognized that they were living in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, and we certainly are also! But, he urged us to rise up and ‘shine like lights’ amongst them. And when do the stars look the brightest? When it is the darkest! Jesus told us “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matt. 5:14) and “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:5). Are we not the Body of Christ? And as long as we are in the world, Jesus is in the world. You can’t separate the Head from the Body and the Body has the light of life in it.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” – John 8:12

We should pray for Joe Biden because he is presiding over a nation that is dying because it doesn’t have Christ at its heart anymore. And neither does he. No one can support abortion of the most innocent among us and have Christ in their heart! This nation is sick and perverse. It is drunk on drugs, on sex, on power, on money, and on personal gratifications. It’s movie theatres have become ‘high places’ where it’s idols are worshipped. Too many of it’s churches have become Temples of comfort where the people are lulled into thinking everything is OK. Like in the days of Noah, they don’t know how close the judgement is. They are told only that God is a God of Love and not that He is also a God of Justice and Judgement. Like the people of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, “they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved” and so will be unprepared for the judgement that is coming. 

O fellow believer, it is time to renew our vows to the Lord, to rise up with the message of righteousness on our lips. It is time to be filled again with the Holy Spirit and preach the Good News that Jesus alone can save us, to set the captives free, to heal the sick, and to deliver those bound by wicked demons. We alone have ‘the light of life’ in us and we have it to share with those yet in darkness. It is time for us to use our God-given authority to bind the works of Satan on this earth and lose the power of the Holy spirit to do God’s work.

I’m not discouraged that we lost an election, because my hope is not in natural governments but, in the Lord of life – Jesus. And we are approaching the end of the race so, let us be refilled with the Holy Spirit and stand in the darkness as the lights God made us to be.
