It is a day past our Mid-term Elections and the so-called Red Wave that many were claiming has not materialized. I remember hearing prophetic voices declaring that as the waters of the Red Sea came crashing down on the Egyptians so a red wave of Republicans would sweep over the Democrats in Congress. Now perhaps this so-called Red Wave is underground and behind the scenes, so to speak, but it has not openly shown itself. Is it possible that these prophets did not hear the word of the Lord? It has happened before –

And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, ‘Hear the word of the LORD!’” Thus says the Lord GOD: “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!” – Ezek. 13:1-3

But these elections do speak loudly to us, in fact they are shouting, RETURN TO THE LORD!

It is clear that the country as a whole has chosen to defend abortion which is the murder of unborn defenseless children all for comfort of sinners! They have preferred drugs and criminals and violence by opening our southern borders, all because they coveted the potential votes of illegal immigrants. They have preferred lawlessness as they have voted for those who defund the police and demand cashless bail for criminals. And they have preferred submission to their elite masters as they voted for those who are destroying our sources of energy thus creating inflation and shortages of food and heat and travel. And it is clear that they prefer the oppression of Communism to the freedom provided by our Constitutional government based on Christian principles. They hate God so much that they prefer the oppression of the Devil.

Scripture declares – “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” but there is no blessing to the people who reject the LORD! There remains only the sure knowledge that His judgement is coming. The prophet Malachi declares –

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts.” – Mal. 4:1-3

However, it is clear that there is yet some hope for those who still fear the LORD. God will arise with healing in His wings. So, what do these elections speak to us and what can we do to avert this judgement? It is clear that we cannot depend on Republicans for our deliverance.

It became clear to me that the prophetic burden of the Lord is families. And the main way to prepare for the coming of the Lord is to restore families in the Lord. After all, everything is built on the family. Every town is nothing but a collection of families. The Church is built on the family and even our government is built on the family. Now I have been blessed with a large family, now over 60, and I have held a family gathering once a year to honor these prophetic words since 2020. Especially since I saw clearly that we were entering the time referred to in Scripture as ‘the end of days.

This ‘dreadful day of the Lord’ Malachi speaks of will not be pleasant or comfortable for most of the world but, God will give the ‘spirit of Elijah’ to those who are obedient to prepare their families to ‘trample the wicked’. This is the heritage for those who fear the Lord, as Malachi wrote –

“Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So, a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.” – Mal. 3:16-18

As God blessed Abraham because God knew he would “command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord to do righteousness and justice” (Gen. 18:19), so the spirit of Elijah will bless us if we turn our hearts toward our children as Malachi prophesied.

We need to rebuild our nation and it will begin by rebuilding our families. Fathers, as the head of the family, you need to ensure your heart is right with the LORD, then you need to lead your family to the LORD. Scripture declares-

“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed but shall speak with their enemies in the gate. – Psalm 127:3-5

If you take responsibility and train them, they shall stand in the gate and proclaim the word of the Lord to the enemies. That means fathers that you are responsible to teach them Scripture, not your church. You are responsible for their education, not the schools. And you are responsible for their political views, not some social media or even some political party. When you stand before God on that final judgement day, He will hold you responsible for all these things. That is why fatherhood is so special and blessed. It is patterned after our heavenly Father.
