The Meaning of the Blood Red Moons

brm-8thI want to take you back eight years to the beginning of God’s heavenly signs to us in this age. 2014 and 2015 presented us with a Blood Red Moon Tetrad, that means 4 blood red moons in sequence.

  1. Biblical Blood Red Moons— When blood red moon tetrads occur on the same Feast Days of Passover and Tabernacles (Sukkot in Hebrew), this is extremely rare.

  2. According to NASA Biblical Blood Red Moon Tetrads have happened only seven times since the time of Jesus (31— 32 AD).

  3. The BRM Tetrad of 2014-2015 is only the eighth occurrence of this rare event. In the Bible, the number 8 signifies something new about to happen.

  4. Hidden within this Tetrad are many other mysteries: the Year of Jubilee, the former and latter rains, the warning of the Shemitah, the mystery of Jesus’ 3 1/2-year ministry, all 7 Feasts of the Lord, the meaning of solar eclipses, the numbers 7 and 8, and possibly the beginning of the end.

Feasts of the LordIn case you are not familiar with the Feasts of the Lord, here a list of them and what they mean.

Passover – we have failed to meet God’s standards and need a Redeemer to help us, One who is without sin who is willing to pay the price for our sin which is death.
Unleavened bread – to walk in this covenant relationship we need to embrace God’s holiness and purge worldly sin from our lives.
First Fruits – we must put God first in all that we do as our Redeemer did.
Pentecost – we are to bear fruit for the Lord, but we need a heavenly endowment of power to do it so, God will send a Comforter to be with us forever.
Trumpets – we are watchmen for the lord and are always to be on alert against the enemy. God also warns us of His soon appearing to make sure we are ready.
Day of Atonement – we need to remember there is a day of judgment coming and we are responsible to prepare our lives. Only we can do it through repentance and belief.
Tabernacles – to remind us that God is faithful, and He is coming to dwell with His people. He will rule on the earth for a thousand years to show all what God’s Rest looks and feels like.

These Feasts are broken up between the Spring and the Fall of the year, 5 occur in the Spring and 3 occur in the Fall. Jesus fulfilled all the Spring Feasts on His first coming and I believe He will fulfill the Fall Feasts on His second coming, all of which happen in the seventh month.

Now that you know what the Feasts of the Lord are let’s look at the mysteries revealed in the Blood Red Moons. First, let’s look at the Year of Jubilee. It was called the Acceptable Year by Jesus and He used it to launch His 3 1/2-year ministry on earth. His text was taken from Isaiah 61.

The Spirit of the LORD God is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the Acceptable Year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all those who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD that He may be glorified.— Isaiah 61:1-3

It was to be a ministry which proclaimed healing, deliverance, and liberty. But it was much more than that; it also gave comfort, true beauty, joy, the garments of praise, and righteousness to those who received His ministry. To fully understand the Year of Jubilee we must look at Leviticus.

“Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement, you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land, and you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family. “ – Leviticus 25:9, 10

The 7th month is Tishri, the first day of which is always a new moon, and it announces the Feast of Trumpets, the time of alarm and trouble for Israel. This year, 2015, it was also the time of a complete eclipse, which announces trouble for the nations. 10 days later the Day of Atonement (Sukkot) began, which signaled the opening of the book of judgment in heaven. The trumpets are sounding the alarms of war and God is warning His people to get ready for the Day of Atonement. A key element of this warning is to restore the family! The prophet Malachi warns of this time and reveals that Elijah will be sent to restore the fathers to the children.

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD, and he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” – Malachi 4:7

latter rain The question is, “How do we do this?”  The answer is— “Not by might or by power, but by My Spirit,” says the LORD of hosts.  (Zechariah 4:6). Jesus began His ministry by being filled with the Spirit, 50 days after His resurrection, His disciples began their ministry by being filled with the Holy Spirit, which was the “former rain” and I believe in the Year of Jubilee (the 50th year) we will be filled with the ‘latter rain’ which Joel and James prophesied about. The Apostle James writes about this time –

“Therefore, be patient brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient, establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” – James 5:7, 8

The prophet Zechariah also has a word about this latter rain –“Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain.” (Zechariah 10:1). On that first Pentecost, the disciples waited and prayed for 10 days before the Holy Spirit fell and Zechariah is telling us that we also should wait and pray as well in the time of the latter rain. Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit to begin His ministry; the disciples were anointed with the former rain of the Holy Spirit to begin their ministry; so, we will be anointed with the latter rain of the Holy Spirit to finish the ministry.

The Blood Red Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015 set a prophetic pattern and the latter rain is part of that pattern. I don’t know when exactly the latter rain will begin but, seven years from that 2015 Year of Jubilee and the outpouring of the former rain will be the Feast of Trumpets of 2022 known as ROSH HASHANAH in Hebrew. However, there some question as to the Year of Jubilee actually being in 2015? And it all depends on how it is counted, by adding 49 years to the last Jubilee or by adding 50 years.

Jubilee count

If 50 years is added instead of 49 years, it brings us to 2017 which was the 70-year anniversary of Israel’s existence and the year President Trump declared Jerusalem the Eternal Capital of Israel. And it marks the year the Revelation 12 sign of the constellation Virgo was fulfilled as well as the sign of the Great American Eclipse. All very important signs. If 2017 is the correct Year of Jubilee, then 7 years from that date is 2024 when we might expect the Latter rain to begin falling. But this is just conjecture on my part. However, Pentecost was 50 days after the Feast of First Fruits so using a 50-year count is not out of the question. As you can probably tell, I love playing with numbers!

Well, this enough for one article. I will include more of the mysteries of the Blood Red Moons in my next article. I hope this has blessed you and helped you to see truths that have been held in mystery since the time Jesus hung on the Cross during the first Blood Red Moon Tetrad.
