Chapter Three: God is Speaking

Chapter Three

God is speaking

fire on Temple MountAmidst turmoil in the Mideast the news media is salivating – so many headline stories to cover. Of course, their so-called experts always ascribe the problems to natural causes, like political unrest because of repressive governments, global warming because of man’s greedy use of the environment, or Islamic unrest because of Israel’s repression of the Arabs, and I have even heard the Christians blamed for it. Few, if any, ever attribute the problems being the inevitable result of man’s rebellion against God.

Jesus said the ‘last days’ would be as ‘the days of Noah’, but what were the days of Noah like? Genesis 6 describes them as days filled with violence and every “intent of man’s heart was only evil continually”. They were filled with demonic manifestations and they even celebrated them and yes, the Nephilim were there.

They lied to one another, coveted one another’s possessions, and delighted in evil. They had a form of religion but no time for God. Jesus described them this way: “For in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away.” How do we compare to this?

In America, we are close enough to fitting this description to put the fear of God into all who will look. The courts are overbooked and backlogged with cases about fraud, physical abuse, lying, thievery and murder to name a few. The jails are full and we have to build bigger ones or invent new ways to handle criminals, such as early release. The entertainment media is filled with violence and an increasing number of movies involve the occult and demonic themes. In most towns there are more bars than grocery stores and divorce and remarriage are destroying our families. Yet, there is no evidence of repentance, even in the so-called church.

America is one of the few countries left in the world that still has at least a show of Christian morality. Yet, in our political parties, Democrat, Republican, and Libertarian, true Christianity is a dirty word. By true Christianity I mean those who believe the Bible and try to practice it. The Democrats openly deny God has any say in our moral lives and the Republican elite don’t want to touch moral issues with a 10-foot pole! It is now against the law to publicly display the 10 Commandments or talk about Jesus in our public schools. As a nation, we are not far away from the ‘days of Noah’ condition.

Jesus said, “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.” (Matt. 24:32). We have already witnessed the return of Israel as a nation, as was prophesied, and we are seeing the ‘fig tree’ blossom, as Jesus predicted. Other signs of His soon return are also happening. As Author Joel Rosenberg recently wrote –

“The Lord Jesus Christ said that in the last days, ‘there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven….There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’ (Luke 21:11, 25, 26) Why? – To get our attention. The Apostle Paul wrote, ‘For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.’ (Romans 8:22, KJV) This will intensify towards the end.”

Our news has been filled with these very events of late. God is trying to get our attention with warnings on every level of our senses. “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts” (Heb. 3:7) as the rebellious Israelites did in the desert with Moses – and they perished.

The war described in Ezekiel 38 and 39 is not far off, in which radical Islam and possibly Russia will be destroyed. Psalm 83 also describes the defeat of the Muslim nations with the hope that, “They may know that You whose name alone is the LORD are the Most High over all the earth.” While many will respond by accepting Jesus as Lord and savior, many will not. It will soon be followed by the rise of Antichrist.

Isaiah warns,

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isa. 55:6,7).

The Holy Spirit is also warning through King David, “For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.” (Ps. 32:6). Don’t be fooled into thinking you’ll get right with God later, you may not have the opportunity. As Scripture says, “Today is the day of salvation”.

endtimesignsGod is speaking and He is using His creation to do the talking! Mass die-offs of birds, fish, and cattle are happening all over the world. Severe weather is destroying man’s confidence in himself; earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, fires, droughts, and signs in the heavens are being given to get man’s attention. If we do not listen and respond in repentance, God will strike our economy and our food supply. Already our economy is as bad as it was during the Great Depression days; unemployment is over 15% and inflation has passed the 10% mark. If Jimmy Carter were still President we would say the Misery Index was >25% and his was only 21%.

As our government, who speaks for us, continues to defy God by dividing His land of Israel and the American people continue to deny the God who has blessed us, these disasters will continue until we are brought to our knees.

For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. – Joel 3:1, 2

God is speaking. Will we listen?

Here ends chapter Three, but I have a few words to add.

Trump-half-shekel-768x450In 2017, President Trump helped fulfill part of this prophesy by moving our embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel, belonging totally to Israel. For which he was proclaimed a Second King Cyrus by Israel. He also denied any ‘two-state’ solution to appease the Arabs. However, we now have a usurper sitting in the White House who is trying to reverse everything President Trump did and that includes an undivided land of Israel. Mr. Biden is appeasing the terrorists among the Arabs and Iran by once again talking about a ‘two-state’ solution and rearming Iran with nuclear weapons. Biden says Iran will use nuclear ability for peaceful purposes, but we all know Iran’s intensions – to drive Israel into the Sea!

But what the present political powers don’t seem to understand is that they are dealing with an unchanging, undefeatable God who has His own purposes for the Mideast and they are clearly recorded for us in the Holy Bible.

Yes, God is speaking and for those who don’t like to read His Word, He is speaking through nature with signs in the heavens and on the earth. It would be wise to listen!

Chapter 2 – the Lost Church

Chapter Two

The Lost Church

a city on a hillAs turmoil sweeps through the earth it is needful of someone to hold up a standard, a city on a hill that can show the way to go and give hope. That is exactly what the Puritans who help found this country hoped and prayed it would become, but they knew it would need a Church that would be salt to preserve and light to show the path.

The American Church has lost its way and it needs to repent and return to its original calling, which is not to build big edifices, big organizations, or big ministries. The Church is not to be a ‘big business’. Jesus said His house would be a ‘house of prayer’ – one that hears from God and talks to God and does God’s will on the earth. In other words, the Church is made up of those who are filled with the Holy Spirit and operate with His direction. The Church is to be a family more than an organization and the family is to be more important than most other things the Church is occupied with.

This creates a problem for most denominational and organizational leaders because, they will not be in control – the Holy Spirit will be the One controlling. After all, there may not be a pastoral message one Sunday or worst of all; they may not take an offering that Sunday. They may have communion instead. They may have a worship session that is not directed by the worship leader but by the Holy Spirit with His gifts displayed. After all, Scripture instructs,

“How is it then, brethren? When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine (a teaching), hath a tongue, hath a revelation, or hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.” – 1 Cor. 14:26.

church serviceThis sure doesn’t sound like the typical American church of performers and spectators. Most church services are more like attending a concert than like Paul’s description. Paul’s type of Church life is suited more too small settings than to big congregations. Those who believe in big organizational churches will no doubt say, “But, look at how much we do for the kingdom of God!” After all, they say, the work of the ministry needs money and the bigger the church the more the money. But, that overlooks the statement of Jesus, “I will build My church.” The issue is one of control – who is in control? God is not against something being big, He is against the Pharisees’ mentality that puts man in charge instead of God.

The Church is also to be light and salt to the world but it cannot be either without a firm commitment to the truth of God’s Word – all of it. Not just those truths that we like or make us feel good, but all God’s truth. Before the Hebrew Priests could enter the Holy Place, they had to look into the Laver where the water acted like a mirror showing them every unclean spot. Then the same water was used to cleanse them making them fit to go into God’s presence. This is a picture of the way God’s Word is to us today, but if it isn’t applied in totality, we are not going to be prepared to be cleansed in repentance so we can go into God’s presence. No sinner (one who is actively sinning) should be comfortable in church until they have repented. Yet the churches are filled every Sunday with people living in adultery, divorce, lying and stealing, gossips, lacking in prayer, unfilled with the Holy Spirit, etc… Evangelism was never meant for the Church but for the world however, today the American Church has invited the world into the church and they need an evangelist to reach them.
apostacy in the church
The American Church, every branch of it, seems to have lost its way. They need prophets instead of pastors; men that will point out the sin in the church and call for turning back to God in repentance. They need to hear the truth that their Christian faith is to permeate every part of their life; such as work, politics, entertainment, and family. One cannot be a Christian in Church and not one on the job, nor in their politics, and I’m not talking just about talking their Christianity but also living it. They are the Church and they are to be the Church in every part of their lives! For example, how you vote is as important as how you worship and how you live in your family as important as how you act in church. You cannot knowingly vote for those who support the murder of the unborn and confess to follow Jesus, who said, “Suffer the children to come unto Me.” You cannot support divorce and re-marriage in the church and confess to honor the God who said, “I hate divorce.” You cannot accept the homosexual-lesbian lifestyle yet claim to follow the One who called it “an abomination”!

America prides itself in being the land of freedom, but if you are a slave to sin, you are not free. Only the truth will set you free and God’s Word is the source of all truth.

The Apostle Peter reveals how God’s judgment will begin on any nation and it applies to us as well.

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” – 1 Pet. 4:17

“The time” certainly has come for us and I believe it has begun. God will dry up finances, take away members, and remove pastors of those churches that have committed adultery with the world. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit is also raising up those who will obey Him. He is pruning them to bear much more fruit, preparing them for the great harvest that is coming in our day. Preparing us for the coming of the Lord.

I pray you are in such a church, it may be big or small for God is not so much interested in numbers as in faithfulness.

The Call: Analysis of the World Today

Chapter One

Analysis of the World Today

Newspaper columnist Charlie Reese wrote, “It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted – by present facts – of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.” Of course, he is referring to the House of Representatives, Senate, and Supreme Court.

web pictures 032I understand why, because we have received a “strong delusion” from God as was promised in 2 Thessalonians 2:10, 11.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

We have forgotten what President Ulysses S. Grant said,

“Hold fast to the Bible. To the influence of this Book we are indebted for all the progress made in true civilization, and to this we must look as our guide in the future.”

Our leaders have forgotten that our first allegiance is to the God of the Bible as they bow to the gods of political correctness, money, and power. Thus we have leaders that squander our freedom and prosperity by giving in to Mideast threats, by accommodating despotic nations such as Russia and China, and by actively supporting the United Nations under the guise of claiming to seek peace while in reality they actively work against God and His Anointed.

Pakastan hangs christian parentsWe give billions in so-called aid to Mideast nations and groups who hate the principles of freedom we believe in and work against us whenever they can. We send our young men and women to protect them militarily only to have them told they cannot carry their Bibles visibly in public. If we had not forsaken God’s word, we would know that there will never be peace in the Mideast, or anywhere else, until the Jews call on Jesus. Only then will He return and bring peace as Zechariah 12:10 states,

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Revelation 12 gives an analysis of the conclusion of this age. Jesus comes the first time and is caught up into heaven. Israel is dispersed into all the nations where Satan tries to destroy them – Satan fails. (It must be comforting to all those nations who have persecuted the Jews to know they were doing the devil’s work for him.) Israel comes back to the Land again only to be attacked in a final attempt to destroy them by nations marching to the Devil’s tune. When that fails, Satan will turn his hatred towards the Christians who hold the testimony of Jesus. But, that time is cut short by the return of Jesus to rescue His own and to punish the wicked.

Israel's 70thMy generation has witnessed the closing drama of this scenario as Israel became a nation once again May 14, 1948, after nearly 2000 years of exile from the land. We have seen one Muslim nation after another try to destroy her only to be defeated themselves. We have seen Jerusalem once again come under Israeli control. The Arab nations continue to threaten in every way possible to destroy Israel but what the world doesn’t seem to understand is that their real war is against the God of the Bible.

Why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, ‘Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.’ He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure; “Yet have I set My King on My holy hill of Zion. – Psalm 2:1-6

Nations are choosing sides right now and most choose against God. The only issue that remains to be settled is whose side you will choose to be on.

Here ends the first chapter of the book, The Call. But, this chapter is yet being fulfilled as we have a new President who is once again turning against God’s plan for Israel and against God’s moral precepts. He is multiplying the shedding of innocent blood and promoting homosexuality and transgenderism, which God calls abominations. He is setting enemies of our Constitution in high office where they can continue to spread their rebellion against our country and the principles it was founded upon.

Thankfully, there is a remnant who is rising up against him and the work of the Lawless One as some churches begin to turn back to their first love, seek the LORD and His word, and seek to be refilled with the Holy Spirit. They are proclaiming the true Gospel, which is the Word of Truth found only in the Bible.

I pray these chapters will be a blessing to you and that you will share them.

Introduction to the Call

web pictures 090In 2010, I wrote a book, that I never published because of several reasons but, I felt I should introduce it here on my blog. Remember, the chapters of this book were written in 2010 and 2011. I will begin with the Introduction –

INTRODUCTON

This book is a compilation of articles written and messages given in the past year and a half. My desire was and is to get America to wake up to the mortal danger she is in of losing her call in the Lord.

King David wrote, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” – Psalm 33:12. As a nation we have proven the accuracy of this truth as our early history clearly proves. Our founding fathers understood this principle as Noah Webster wrote in the preface to his famous dictionary –

noah-webster-quote“In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed … No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.” – Preface by Noah Webster in his 1828 Dictionary.

Our colleges and universities were originally founded to promote this principle as well, as the Harvard Rules and Precepts states –

“The main end of the scholar’s life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life. Therefore, to lay Christ in the bottom is the only foundation of all sound knowledge and harmony.” – Harvard Rules and Precepts, 1638

As long as we adhered to these sentiments, we did indeed prosper in every arena of human endeavor. We became that “city on a hill” that Puritan John Winthrop preached about. However, in the 50’s we began the downward slide away from God. By the 60’s we had declared God was not important enough to remain in our schools, preferring instead the doctrine of ‘pluralism’, which is just another name for idolatry, and was quickly followed by the concept of ‘Separation of Church and State’ which was falsely attributed to our founding fathers intents. Soon we were removing God’s Ten Commandments from public places and even baring students from praying in school. This has been followed by a host of evils all resulting in the destruction of our foundational principles.

Once these principles were relegated to the ash heap, so to speak, the United States began its downward slide into moral decay and spiritual deadness that has resulted in the current troubles we face. In our early history every move of government was examined and judged according to Holy Scripture and was thus kept on an even plain. National debt such as we face now could never have happened then. Today’s military adventurism such as we have today wouldn’t have happened then. We were not the world’s policemen but the world’s conscious. We carried proudly the flag of Christianity and the standards of truth found in the Holy Bible.

father training childrenThe American family was firmly anchored on the foundation of Jesus Christ and the Holy Word of God. Since all aspects of society depend on the family, American society was stable and free to grow. It could even correct itself from its own weaknesses because of its firm foundation. Today, such is not the case and families are suffering and dysfunctional. When we left our moral foundation which is found only in Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible, we left the only foundation able to support our Declaration of Independence and Constitution. It was only a matter of time before the decay would affect every area of society; families, churches, education and government. Now we have politicians who transgress the intent of our Constitution with impunity, education which denies or fails to teach our founding principles, churches which commit adultery with the world and have lost their saltiness, and families which are falling apart.

However, there is still some remnant of Americans who believe in Jesus Christ and long to return to our early strengths as is seen in the ‘home school’ movement and in the Tea Party movement. There is yet time to do as Jesus advised the Church of Ephesus in the Book of Revelation –

RememberRemember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent. – Revelation 2:1-5 (emphasis added)
