“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind; and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” – Jesus
These words outline the two great steps of faith in the Christian walk: loving God and loving others as yourself. All preparation for living and serving in this world must rise out of these words. They sum all our existence as God would have it to be.
The second command would be impossible to fulfill without the first! Any part of our lives held back from God is a part not available to others, thus hindering us from loving as we love ourselves. Therefore, we will first consider what loving God means.
Every little child begins life with self-awareness. Everything takes its meaning from the relationship to the child. We first learn to interpret life as it affects us. It is only later that we become aware of others and their needs but, it is the learning directed at ourselves that forms the foundation we need to reach out toward others. When we have problems with our self-concept, then we always have problems relating to others. Continue reading
Man is accountable to the God of the Universe
The Bible has much to say about our situation in America today. Our news media abounds with stories of violence, political betrayals, racial tensions, and fake news stories designed to advance their political agenda. We have leaders who enjoy the power and influence that inevitably come with leadership but few that embrace the responsibility that should guide them. Leaders haven’t changed much throughout history – but our qualification standards they must meet have! God revealed what these standards should be to Moses through Jethro, his father-in-law: Continue reading
As one calamity after another strikes the U.S. whether they be natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, or drought, or attacks by terrorists and financial downturns, the nightly news seems to be dominated by bad news. We can no longer claim it is just the result of better news coverage as those who keep statistics have now shown that natural disasters of every sort are definitely on the increase. What is the answer? Continue reading
Jesus sent a letter to the church of Sardis in which He said –
“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.” – Rev. 3:1
‘You are dead’ is a pretty drastic judgment to those claiming to be Christian followers of Jesus. Jesus even warned their names would be blotted out of the Book of Life. They forgot the message of Peter to believers – Continue reading
I can’t get away from believing that 2018 is a pivotal year for all the world but, especially for America and Israel. In America it is obvious that many have drifted away from the Biblical view we once had as a nation. Our belief in the value of every human life has been eroded by the doctrines of convenience. An entire political party has fallen prey to these anti-American values and while I could pick many of these lost values to highlight, I will stress only one – abortion, which is the willful destruction of a life deemed unworthy to live. The Democrat party showed its true colors at its 2016 National Convention held in Philadelphia where they proudly proclaimed themselves as the Abortion Party! And there are many in other political parties that would also agree with Continue reading
A sad day for Ireland! They think they are choosing freedom but, they are choosing death, and death of their most precious possession – their babies! Continue reading
Paul warned of a great ‘falling away’ to happen just before the Antichrist appears. He is speaking of those who proclaim to be Christian but, by their lifestyles they are resisting the work of Jesus. They are doing the Devil’s work instead of the work of God even though they may claim to be Christian. They are the children of the Great Whore of Babylon who is clothed in the royal colors and garments of the Church but is really riding the Beast of Revelation.
Of such are all the churches that are claiming a ‘replacement theology’ which denies God’s stated promises to restore Israel. God clearly states –
“Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;” – Ezek. 37:21 and
“Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, And declare it in the isles afar off, and say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’“ – Jer. 31″10
