Israel is preparing to build the Temple – “It may have been almost 2000 years since the Roman Empire destroyed the Second Temple in 70 AD and even more since the Babylonians destroyed the First Temple but a growing movement of Jews is determined to see the Temple rebuilt and once again take its place at the center of Jerusalem.” The prophet Haggai records the Lord’s thoughts on this – Continue reading
“Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.” – Rev. 12:1,2
This sign was seen in the heavens in September, 2017 as the Sun was under the head of Virgo and the Moon was under her feet.
In November of 2016 the planet Jupiter entered the constellation Virgo and went into retrograde. Because of its large orbit compared to earth’s, Jupiter appears to be moving back and forth called retrograde motion. It continues in this retrograde motion until September 23, 2017, a period of 42 weeks minus 1 day, which is a normal human birth cycle, when it leaves Virgo on its trip to the constellation Taurus. Just above Virgo is the constellation Leo which has 9 stars. At this time there are also 3 planets just below Leo, Mercury, Mars, and Venus, thus making the 12 stars that form Virgo’s crown. “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:13-16
The salt Jesus is talking about is that preservative that fights corruption – the corruption of sin. And the light He is talking about is that God given exposure to the truth as God defines it. It alone can drive away darkness. Mystery Babylon cannot stand either. Her spirit thrives in darkness and she is full of corruption. If we would follow Jesus we must be salt and light in our time. One thing about salt – you always know it is there! There is no hiding it. And light always exposes darkness for what it is. Continue reading
Mystery Babylon, as John called her in Revelation 17:5, has appeared many times throughout history but her final portrait is revealed to John as a harlot, decked in the royal colors of the priesthood, with scarlet and purple robbing as described by Peter (1 Peter 2:9). But, she is false and riding upon the Beast which represents the spirit of Antichrist. While she talks religion, she ‘fornicates’ with the world. Her actions, both past and present, reveal her true nature to those with eyes to see. She is a persecutor of all who love the truth of God’s word and cannot be deceived by her. Continue reading
Jesus warned of persecution that would come as the end nears.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” – Matt. 24:9-13 Continue reading
Jesus told us to watch and pray that we may be counted worthy to escape all the evil things that would be coming on the earth in the last days. Chief among the evil things to come will be the appearance of the Antichrist but, we know there will have to be things that appear first before he sets up an abomination that desolates. He will in some way acknowledge a covenant with many in Israel that will last for seven years, as the prophet Daniel foretold. Continue reading
The Church of Pergamum was known as the ‘compromising church’ because it tried to mix worldliness with righteousness. It can’t be done – in the end they would lose both! I begin this article with the video on Pergamum –
When the Greek successor of Alexander the Great, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, invaded Israel he took over the Temple and desecrated it by erecting an altar to Zeus. He even sacrificed a pig on the altar. It was forever after referred to as the “abomination of desolation”. Continue reading
