Christmas – the true Hope and Change

manger sceneAs we approach this Christmas season, it is good to remember the hope contained in it. Many false voices have cried “hope and change” but, there is only One who can truly bring hope and change. He is the One we celebrate this Christmas. Our Father in heaven sent Him to us as a gift and he came as a little baby, like we all do. Yet embodied in Him was the hope of the world.

All those who have children will understand the wonderment, joy, and love Mary and Joseph must have felt as they looked at that little face so at peace, even in a stable, yet, they must have also felt the pain of knowing what His purpose was and the things He would suffer for us all. Christmas in Light of Hanukkah

manger sceneAs we approach Christmas, it is good to look at Christmas in prophecy. There is a story in biblical history that has much to tell us about the times of Christmas we are approaching, it is called Hanukkah. But, before we do, we should remember what Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” – Eccl. 1:9

History does repeat itself. especially prophetic history. Jesus came once to initiate the Church but, He is coming a second time to set the world straight and to establish His Continue reading

The Revelation of Hanukkah

Unless you celebrate the 12 days of Christmas, most Christians have finished their traditions concerning the birth of our Savior, Jesus. However, our Jewish friends are celebrating the festival of Hanukkah which began December 24, 2016 and ends January 1, 2017. Since the New Testament teaches that we Christians have been “grafted into” the olive tree of Israel — it would be fitting for us, who name the Name of Christ, to understand Hanukkah.

one-new-man“Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” – Ephesians 2:11-13

“that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel” – Ephesians 3:6

Noel !

(The First Noel by Day of Eternity)

Our English carol “The First Noel” was first published in a book titled Carols Ancient and Modern, edited by William Sandys in 1823. The message of the song is the joyous pronouncement that the King of Israel has been born. When we sing the song or wish someone a joyous noel, we are following the example of the angels, announcing the good news that Jesus Christ was born, not just for Israel, but for all mankind, so we could receive forgiveness of sins through Him. Emmanu-El by Day of Eternity

For my 80th birthday I received a special gift and I want to share some of it with you because it helps define what true riches are – family. While I have 8 wonderful children, 30 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren and all of them are precious and special – each in their own way, seven of them worked on a special gift for me – a music album for Christmas. They named themselves Day of Eternity and the album is named Emmanu-El, Continue reading

Merry Christmas!

Feast of TabernaclesChristmas eve day, and it began with a rush of excitement for us. It is so sad that many in America and around the world really have no idea what the celebration is all about. Their rushing about seems to be all about buying presents and attending parties, all of which can be nice but, they are not the reason we celebrate.

Statistics tells us that suicides are at their highest frequency during this season. There are no doubt many reasons; hopelessness when such hope is being celebrated, loneliness when the season most celebrates care for one another and family, despair over failures that seem to overwhelm one, and most of all, all out demonic attack. The Fight For Freedom

american-flag-2a2I wrote a 4-part series named 26 Signs of the Lord’s Soon Return last month. I part 4, the 23rd sign was on Christians would be hated for His names’ sake. While this has been happening world-wide ever since Jesus spoke these words, they have increased in ferocity and frequency in our generation. The US has mostly been free of these attacks because of our strong Christian base, but that is clearly changing. News story after news story trumpets the warning – Christianity is under attack in America!

The recent story Pastor Faces Lawsuit for Preaching Against Homosexuality is just another sign of this prophesy of Jesus being magnified. While America was thought to be “A city founded on a hill” by our Pilgrim forefathers, we have now become “A target set on a hill” for all the atheists and heathen to shoot at. The Pilgrims believed true freedom only came from Christ and that anyone who embraced that message would be free indeed. Continue reading
