God’s Word to Small Churches

House church God has a word specifically to small churches and home churches. It is found in Revelation chapter three, verses 7 through 13, and is known as the letter to the Philadelphia Church.

“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”. I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; “ – Rev. 3:7, 8 Continue reading

Lessons from the church of Philadelphia

philadelphia open doorEveryone who studies Scripture wants to be in the church of Philadelphia because it alone was promised protection from the Great Tribulation Jesus said was coming.

“Since you have kept My command to endure patiently, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.” – Rev. 3:10

It was also the church that Jesus gave an ‘open door‘ to. They were not wealthy and were not mighty in worldly power and influence but, they were rich in faithfulness. With this intro I give the video introduction to the church of Philadelphia. Continue reading

Where is the Church?

Why is the American church seemingly so powerless against the atheistic worldview sweeping the land? The Bible declares that light overcomes darkness and “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.” (Prov. 14:34). So why isn’t the church overcoming the darkness? Perhaps it isn’t the church at all? Jesus said –

oil lamp“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. “Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” – Matt. 5:14-20 Continue reading

Philadelphia, the Faithful Church

open door“These are the words of Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you kept My word and have not denied my name. I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars – I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.

“Since you have kept My command to endure patiently, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of My God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from My God; and I will also write on him My new name.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” – Revelation 3:7-13

The message to the church of Philadelphia is a message only to those who overcome. They Continue reading
