As the End Approaches

26signsMost people are at least curious about the end of the age and wonder when and how it will happen? Many wise men through the ages have tried to answer this riddle. The Holy Bible is full of prophets inspired by God to give clues to the answer to this question but, the greatest prophet in the Bible gives a clear answer to the question “what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age?”. His name is Jesus, the Messiah.

He gave a complete outline to the events that would lead to the end on the Mount of Olives. That teaching is recorded in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 which are like 3 cameras recording His teaching from 3 different views. The front view is given by Matthew 24 with Mark and Luke repeating much of Matthew but adding some different perspectives. Continue reading

Uplifting the Glory of God (2nd ed.)

starry-skyWhile many Christians are failing their main mission in the world – uplifting the glory of God and telling the world the good news of the Gospel – the devil is fast at work trying to defeat God’s plan. Instead of converting the world, Christians are compromising the with the world. They have forgotten to uplift the glory of God by obeying His commands, one of the first of which God ever gave to mankind – Continue reading

Iran continues preparing for war with Israel

Iranian camp for 80000 Shiite Rebels

I have written extensively about the coming war of Ezekiel 38 which often referred to as the war of Gog and Magog. In a recent article named ‘Is Ezekiel’s Gog soon upon us?’ I specifically highlighted recent actions by Turkey to prepare for this war but, in this article I will highlight actions by Iran that very well may set the war off! Iran (known as Persia by Ezekiel) is steadily building Continue reading

Is God Shaking the Earth?

We get so busy with everyday living or our desires to get more that we often do not take time for the really important details of life – like why are we here? What is our real purpose in life? The Scriptures say –

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10

God has a plan for each and every one of us but the devil and even our own desires distract us from accomplishing this plan. So, quite often God has to shake us up, just to get our attention. He can do this many ways; sickness, injury, financial problems, or natural signs or disasters. One way He uses to really get the attention of many at once is an earthquake. They were used many times during the first coming of Jesus – Continue reading

Something is Happening episode 2

starry-sky“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.” – Psalm 19:1

We so often read these scriptures but never realize they may have a prophetic message as well. As we near the end of the age, God will use all His creation to warn us of impending danger, even the clouds of heaven.

“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” – Matthew 24:30

“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” – Revelation 1:7 Continue reading

Something is Happening episode 1

Many are worried about the future and wondering what is coming next. Will it be another war, or hurricane, or earthquake, or maybe something worse? Secular news is full of such stories and warnings. But few ever seem to look at what the One who controls it all has to say – God!

7-signs-of-christs-returnAs Jesus was preparing His disciples for the end of the age, this is what He taught –

“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. “All these are the beginning of sorrows. (birth pangs)” – Matthew 24:4-8

Jesus never sugar-coated the truth. Yes, there would be many troubles coming and like birth pangs, they would grow more painful and frequent the closer we come to the delivery. He also warned, these would just be the beginning signs – more is to come. So, where are we now in time? Continue reading

WARNING

Holy Scriptures warn us that God will not bring judgment on a nation without first warning it of the impending danger. We are also warned that the judgment will begin first with the ‘house of God’.

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” – 1 Peter 4:17

The ‘house of God’, we call it the Church, is supposed to be walking in the light and should be first to see the coming flood of trouble but, for the most part – they are asleep.  Continue reading

Who will stand with the Lord?

which kingIn my last article, Which King will You Choose?, I tried to illustrate the truth that the people cannot gain heaven’s blessings by choosing leaders that only look good or sound good or even that agree with what you think. If they do, they inevitably get a King Saul. They must choose leaders whose hearts are after God – like King David. But, there is another truth in this process that is seldom referred to – and that is the people always get the leaders they deserve! If Americans  reject God and His laws they cannot expect God to give them righteous leaders. If God does happen to give them righteous leaders they will only reject them, or worse. Continue reading

Which King will you choose?

dhs_1As the United States is laboring under the selection of a new President it would be well to remember some Bible history – the story of King Saul.

“Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?” – 1 Samuel 10:1

“And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.” 1 Samuel 10:24

Saul was outstanding among the people and God even chose him to be king. God even anointed him with His Spirit –

“And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.” – 1 Samuel 10:6

Though Saul genuinely tried to live up to the high-calling he received, we know he failed but the question is why?

“And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.” – 1 Samuel 13:13,14

If you read the whole story, you will see that in a moment of stress Saul took things in his own hands –

“And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.” – 1 Samuel 13:9

He was supposed to wait for Samuel to make the offerings to God because God had given Samuel alone this authority but, in a moment of great stress, he relied on religion rather than on God’s word and it cost him the kingdom. Just like the people had done in appointing a king in the first place so Saul did – he trusted in the “arm of flesh” rather than in God!

Saul had made a good start with the Lord. The Lord had even made him into “another man”. – we would call that today a born-again experience but, it was not enough. The word of God says we must go on –

“Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God “ – Hebrews 6:1

“For we have become partakers of Christ  if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end – Hebrews 3:14

chestersonThe people also failed to trust God and they looked to the world for wisdom instead of to God. They wanted a king like the other nations instead of God.

“And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.” – 1 Samuel 10:19

God gave them the desires of their heart and they ultimately paid a high price for it – they lost their liberty as well as the fullness of God’s blessings. God would continue working with them, but the cost was great.

Now, how does this story apply to us in these days? Much in every way. Many are looking to some political figure to solve all our problems when it is God alone who can save us. As our first President declared, it was the “smiles of heaven” that brought this nation forth and He alone can meet our every need.

But, if we continue on our politically correct rejection of God’s laws of conduct, even denying His existence or His right to impose His rules of conduct upon us, we will condemn ourselves and our country to an existence without His blessings. If you think Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, or any other leader, can lead us into the “promised land”, so to speak, without God’s divine help, you are a fool who deserves what you are going to reap.

which kingIn the United States, our vote is precious, and we should not give it without considering the lesson of Saul. We should want someone who exhibits the characteristics of a king David rather than a king Saul –

“as My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart, to do only what was right in My eyes” – 1 Kings 14:8

If the political parties will not give us such a candidate – then we should look for a party that will!

The Blood Red Moons Revisited p3

mystery of 7I have been posting about the 2014-2015 Blood Red Moon Tetrad and the eclipses it contains, but there is another important sign hidden within them that gives grave news for the world. It is the mystery of the number seven. From the beginning of creation the number seven has played an important role –

  1. God created the heavens and the earth in six days but on the seventh – He rested.
  2. Man was commanded to follow the same pattern and set aside the seventh day as a Sabbath – ” Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” – Exodus 20:8
  3. Not only was the seventh day a Sabbath but seven Sabbaths was a special Sabbath and the next day (50th day) was a celebration of harvest.- Leviticus 23:16
  4. Every seven years was also a special time, called the shemittah in which there was to be a time of release from financial debt. – Deuteronomy 15:1
  5. Every seven shemitahs was to begin a year of Jubilee – a time of great release and rest, debts forgiven, land that was lost was to be returned, those who had been enslaved were to be set free, and the land and vineyards were also to be given rest.
  6. Judgments also came in groups of seven – Pharaohs dream of seven lean cows, and 7 cows of judgmentthe Babylonian captivity of Judah for 70 years because they did not honor God by keeping the shemitahs commanded and fell away from God. – Jeremiah 29:10
  7. Antichrist will rule the earth for seven years. – Daniel 9:27
