To the Seven Churches – Smyrna

calling for execution

Muslims calling for execution of Christian

“And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” – Revelation 2:8-11

Jesus is dictating a letter to seven churches in Asia Minor through John. Historically, we know that there were more than seven churches at the time but, these were selected to represent messages to all churches in any circumstance. Smyrna is the second church selected by Jesus, and the only one identified as experiencing Continue reading

Mystery Babylon p7

As we consider this final Gentile kingdom seen by Daniel and John we need to remember who it is that is behind it – the Devil.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” – Revelation 12:9

From the beginning he has opposed God and His plan of Continue reading

Mystery Babylon p6

Daniels beast“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” – Revelation 13:1,2

As revealed to Daniel (chapter 2) and John (Revelation 17) these heads represent mountains on which the woman sits but they also represent nations that rule the world and Israel. The last kingdom portrayed in Daniel’s chapter 2 is Rome but, it is clear that Rome changes form over time – into two legs, then two feet, and finally 10 toes. Continue reading

Noah has a message for today

Many who think of themselves as Christian have not the slightest idea what that means. Either it was what they were raised or maybe it just sounded like a good insurance policy. The following video accurately depicts where many young people today are in their world view.

Ray Comfort challenges young people to think about issues they never hear about in many of their churches and certainly not in the public schools most have attended. But, it is not enough to just think about the issues presented here – you must do something about them. Repentance is required. Repentance is an action to turn around and go a different direction – to follow the path God lays out for us in His word, the Bible.

It is the same message given in Revelation 22 –

“And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”

There is not much time left, and you personally may have even less, so if you want turn your life over to Jesus, strive to do it wholeheartedly.

God’s Justice is Sure

God is not mocked! Individuals or nations cannot deny Him by their actions and yet expect His continued blessings. The United States actually began almost 400 years ago when the Pilgrims and Puritans first came to this land in the early 1600’s. Others may have come before them but they were never able to successfully found a society. Why? I believe it was because God kept this land for those who would form a covenant with Him. Both the Pilgrims and the Puritans did this and they relied upon God’s protective hand to establish them. If you read true historical reports, you will find every colony and state was founded upon a covenant relationship with God Almighty. None can deny that God kept His part of the covenant and this nation became the most blessed in all history. It truly became “A city on a hill” for all the world to see and immolate. But, rather than celebrating this and continuing it, we have been denying our history, apologizing for its success, and working to tear down its foundations.  Continue reading

Don’t Worry about ISIS – Worry about God!

Israel Under David and Solomon

Don’t worry about ISIS – worry about God!

“For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. – Joel 3:1, 2

1922 UN Mandated Territory

As you can see by the map of Israel under David and Solomon, Israel extends to the Euphrates River in the North and through most of
Jordan in the East. Damascus is only about half way up the map that God promised to Abraham and that David and Solomon conquered. In 1922 the UN partitioned the land into a state for Israel and for the Arabs. That map is shown to the right – later in 1947, to appease the Arabs for their oil, the map was changed to a new UN Mandate, which was

never accepted by the Arabs – they went to war instead, a war which they lost! So, when President Obama calls for Israel returning to pre-1947 borders, they are basically giving the West Bank, Samaria, and Gaza back to the Israelis, though I doubt he understands that! So, we have three groups trying to solve the problem of Jerusalem and Israel: 1) the nations of the world who want peace so they can continue making money off the resources of the Mideast or gain acclaim for their ‘legacy’, 2) the Muslims who can never give back land once taken by Islam and want to destroy Israel and God’s claim to the land . and 3) God who calls it My land (Joel 3:2) and declares that He has set His name in Jerusalem (1 Kings 11:36). Now, I ask you – “Who do you think will win this argument! Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Continue reading

A Message for the World – and the Church

The world today is in turmoil and confusion. The winds of war are sweeping the Middle East; the winds of financial ruin are sweeping Europe; the winds of tolerance and political correctness are sweeping America, England, and Australia; and the little tornadoes of greed, sexual immorality, religious heresy,  and pride randomly reap their havoc wherever they will. One thing is certain, there is no peace. Politicians promise hope and change but they are incapable of producing it and their plans only produce more havoc and slavery to the people they represent.

There is only one way to peace and that is through the Prince of Peace – Jesus Christ. The only hope that exists in life is Hope in God because He is the only One who can truly change you and your circumstances. His precepts are the only ones that work for any society. History proves that “blessed is the country whose God is the LORD.” Why is the whole world either hating the United States with envy or trying to immolate it? Because our forefathers knew this principle and built the country on these Scriptural principals. The result was freedom and prosperity. The foundations they built are yet there even though they are crumbling. Continue reading

Blood Red Moons – a New Beginning

blood-moon-tetrad-2014-2015The Blood Red Moon cycle we are currently in has many aspects to it, all of which deserve our careful consideration. While blood red moons, which occur during a lunar eclipse, happen frequently, four blood red moons occurring consecutively are rare. These are known as a blood red moon tetrad. But, when a blood red moon tetrad occurs on Biblical feast days, this is a very rare happening. And when these blood red moon tetrads occur on the same Feast days of Passover and Tabernacles (Sukkot in Hebrew), this is extremely rare. In fact according to NASA it only happened seven times since the time of Jesus. They are known as Biblical Blood Red Moons.  The Blood Red Moon Tetrad of 2014 – 2015 is only the eighth occurrence of this rare event since the time of Jesus’ first coming. Continue reading

Prepare for Rain

Isaiah 61 text

Table 1: Isaiah 61 verses 1 through 3

I have been thinking and praying about the upcoming Year of Jubilee, which will begin September 23, 2015 and lasts for a year. Remember, Jesus began his public ministry by quoting Isaiah 61, as shown in Table 1. God first gave the reason for this Acceptable Year in Leviticus, where He calls it the Jubilee Year –

“Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land. ‘And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.” – Leviticus 25:9, 10

In the post The Acceptable Year to Come I asked the question “Does the 3 1/2 years of Jesus’ ministry during His first advent have anything to do with the first 31/2 years when the Antichrist will be revealed?”. I want to elaborate on that question here. Continue reading

Passover – God’s Countdown Begins!

passover 2015As we prepare to remember Passover, I am reminded that it also contained two other equally important feasts; Unleavened Bread and First Fruits. In fact Passover began a countdown of sorts to the first of God’s supernatural harvests. The Feast of Unleavened Bread began the next day after Passover and the Feast of First Fruits began on the next Sunday, which was usually 3-7 days later depending on the year. First Fruits marked the first of the annual harvests and a sheaf of barley was waved before the LORD in thanksgiving for the coming harvest. Prophetically, Jesus was raised from the dead on this exact feast day and represents the first fruit of the harvest of souls to come. Fifty days later the second of the annual harvest days occurred – Pentecost. This harvest marked the bringing in of the wheat harvest. Prophetically it represents the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit, spoken of by the prophet Joel as the ‘former rain’. Continue reading
