War is upon us!

Something is Happening episode 1

Many are worried about the future and wondering what is coming next. Will it be another war, or hurricane, or earthquake, or maybe something worse? Secular news is full of such stories and warnings. But few ever seem to look at what the One who controls it all has to say – God!

7-signs-of-christs-returnAs Jesus was preparing His disciples for the end of the age, this is what He taught –

“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. “All these are the beginning of sorrows. (birth pangs)” – Matthew 24:4-8

Jesus never sugar-coated the truth. Yes, there would be many troubles coming and like birth pangs, they would grow more painful and frequent the closer we come to the delivery. He also warned, these would just be the beginning signs – more is to come. So, where are we now in time? Continue reading

WARNING

Holy Scriptures warn us that God will not bring judgment on a nation without first warning it of the impending danger. We are also warned that the judgment will begin first with the ‘house of God’.

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” – 1 Peter 4:17

The ‘house of God’, we call it the Church, is supposed to be walking in the light and should be first to see the coming flood of trouble but, for the most part – they are asleep.  Continue reading

Our Foundations Under Attack

“An appeal to arms and the God of hosts is all that is left us. But we shall not fight our battle alone. There is a just God that presides over the destinies of nations. The battle sir, is not of the strong alone. Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of  pplchains and slavery? Forbid it almighty God. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death.”

This quote was from Patrick Henry spoken in 1775. The following year he also wrote –

‘It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here.’ Continue reading

Who will stand with the Lord?

which kingIn my last article, Which King will You Choose?, I tried to illustrate the truth that the people cannot gain heaven’s blessings by choosing leaders that only look good or sound good or even that agree with what you think. If they do, they inevitably get a King Saul. They must choose leaders whose hearts are after God – like King David. But, there is another truth in this process that is seldom referred to – and that is the people always get the leaders they deserve! If Americans  reject God and His laws they cannot expect God to give them righteous leaders. If God does happen to give them righteous leaders they will only reject them, or worse. Continue reading

Strategies for the End

matt 24In Matthew 24, Jesus delivered to his disciples his basic teaching on the end of the age.  It involved wars and rumors of wars, nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom, famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in many different places.

He warned them that believers would be hated for His name’s sake, betrayed even by family and other so-called Christians. Because iniquity (lawlessness) would abound the love of many shall grow cold. Into this atmosphere the Antichrist will be able to set up his systems of control and abomination. Continue reading

To the Seven Churches-Pergamum

asclepius“And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. 

But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 

Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.” – Revelation 2:12-17 Continue reading

To the Seven Churches – Smyrna

“And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” – Revelation 2:8-11

Jesus is dictating a letter to seven churches in Asia Minor through John. Historically, we know that there were more than seven churches at the time but, these were selected to represent messages to all churches in any circumstance. Smyrna is the second church selected by Jesus, and the only one identified as experiencing Continue reading

The Church Under Siege

As we consider Mystery Babylon we must remember that we are drawing close to the end of the age. The Blood Red Moons of 2014 and 2015, the Shemitah (Sabbath) year of 2015, and the Jubilee year of 2016 all signal its nearness to those who are watching. As the end of the age approaches, we should expect wickedness to increase but also righteousness to increase. The message of Revelation 22:11 is going forth –

“He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” Continue reading
