A Word of Hope

Israel and Anita

As I was filing my taxes this year, I was forced to look back on the year 2019. In January, my wife of 60 years was suddenly taken from me. She collapsed while walking down our hallway and went to be with the Lord. I was in shock and walked through her funeral in a daze as my children and grandchildren gave her a wonderful and touching last goodbye. Then a few short months later my third son Israel lost his battle with cancer and went to be with Jesus. I’ll never forget as I rubbed my fingers through his hair, he was looking out his bedroom window and his mouth was open as if welcoming Jesus. It still brings tears to my eyes. One of Israel’s sons, Micah, wrote and performed this song to honor the struggle Israel had in his battle.

Passover 2020

passoverA very important Christian event is happening soon on April 9th, and I’m not referring to Easter. April 9th will be Passover, or Pesach in Hebrew. “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.” – 1 Cor. 15:20-24

For centuries men have been celebrating the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, God’s Son.  Jesus was the firstfruit from the dead and His promise is ever true – afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.” Mean while, God is working to perform His stated plan (1) to reach the nations with the message of the Gospel, (2) to bring Israel back to the land, (3) to restore Jerusalem to the place of God’s Name, (4) to put an end to all rule, authority, and power but His. As we celebrate Easter and Passover this year, remember this is what it is all about – the restoration of God and His authority. Continue reading
