Our church meets for prayer each Tuesday and Friday nights, prayer for each other, the Church, and the nation. This past Tuesday night a sister shared with tears a dream she had (I don’t think she will mind me sharing parts of it.), a dream about the American Church. She saw the minister up front and the choir and the people sitting in the pews. While the preacher was preaching and while the choir was singing, most of the people were just sitting there, not entering in. The expressions on their faces was like “Ho Hum, more of the same”. They were uninterested. And then she heard the Lord say, “My people have rejected Me and there is no fear of God among them.”
So many in the Church have equated their Christianity with infant baptism or church membership, being baptized and giving their tithes faithfully. Or maybe just going to Easter or Christmas services once a year and so many pastors don’t challenge them to anything more. But, this is not true Christianity and I wonder if they have ever heard the true Gospel. It is written in the Book of Hebrews –
Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’ ” – Heb. 10:5-7
“In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you had no pleasure”, in other words God is not satisfied with with mere church membership, with giving a little of oneself, with one hour a week attendance! He wants our whole heart. When Jesus came, He said God prepared a body for Him. Folks, you and I are that body! All those who claim the title of Christian are that body. And it was never to be a ‘lacksidaysical’, uninterested, spectator body! Jesus said He came to do the Father’s will — that means you and I, His body, are to do His will as well.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” and “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (Rom. 1:16). Every pastor who does not preach the cross of Jesus Christ is not preaching the the gospel of Christ! Jesus says to everyone who follows Him, “come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”
Scripture declares that in this gospel of Christ “the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.'” (Rom. 1:17). Now also contained in this gospel is the message about the wrath of God.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.” – Rom. 1:18, 19
That means every time Congress attempts to pass laws that will take away our freedom, such as HR1, which will greatly limit our freedom of speech guaranteed by the 1st. Amendment, or the so-called Equality Act (HR5), which will stop us from proclaiming what Scripture has to say about homosexuality and take away women’s rights to use separate bathrooms, the pastors and the church must vigorously speak against it! This Scripture in Galatians is also part of the gospel of Christ –
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” – Gal. 5:1
Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi and many others who promote abortion are going against God’s 6th. Commandment, “Thou shall not murder!” and they should be made to publicly repent, and that includes all those other Christians who voted for them! Also, the 7th. commandment is broken by many in the Church, “Thou shall not commit adultery.” These and many more are also part of the gospel of Christ that is failed to be preached in many churches. It is no wonder the church is weak and cannot stand against the wickedness that is sweeping over our land! In the New Testament, Paul rebuked such people and turned them over to Satan, excluding them from fellowship until they repented!
We have been given many signs in the heavens and on the earth ever since 2010 warning us about the soon coming of the Lord. God has warned that judgment will begin in the Church and many prophetic voices are now speaking of just this. It is time to take note of these things. Pastors, I call you to preach the entire Word of God; don’t worry about being politically correct because God isn’t. Don’t worry about losing church members, better to have a few faithful than to have many lukewarm members. Paul says many church members are going to perish because they did not receive the love of the truth. (2 Thes. 2:10). To the church members that are comfortable and willing to let the pastor do the work, I remind you of what Jesus did to the fig tree that had no fruit — He cursed it! Remember that you are a disciple and Jesus gave the great commission to you –
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. – Matt. 28:18-20
In other words, we the body of Christ are to be doing all that He taught the original disciples. I pray you will ask God to help you do just that.
