An island that has recently appeared in the middle of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) is a cause of ecologic alarm, but, more importantly, it is also a sign mentioned explicitly in the Talmud as presaging the coming of the Messiah from the House of David. worn BibleI recently wrote about the absolute need for truth, in our personal lives and in our national life. There is no freedom without truth. Of course, the main truth is God’s revelation but, political truth is also important to our everyday lives. We know that in the last days an Antichrist will appear who will raise the art of lying and deception to an ungodly level. As the Apostle Paul wrote –

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

As you can see by the map of Israel under David and Solomon, Israel extends to the Euphrates River in the North and through most of
Jordan in the East. Damascus is only about half way up the map that God promised to Abraham and that David and Solomon conquered. In 1922 the UN partitioned the land into a state for Israel and for the Arabs. That map is shown to the right – later in 1947, to appease the Arabs for their oil, the map was changed to a new UN Mandate, which was

never accepted by the Arabs – they went to war instead, a war which they lost! So, when President Obama calls for Israel returning to pre-1947 borders, they are basically giving the West Bank, Samaria, and Gaza back to the Israelis, though I doubt he understands that! So, we have three groups trying to solve the problem of Jerusalem and Israel: 1) the nations of the world who want peace so they can continue making money off the resources of the Mideast or gain acclaim for their ‘legacy’, 2) the Muslims who can never give back land once taken by Islam and want to destroy Israel and God’s claim to the land . and 3) God who calls it My land (Joel 3:2) and declares that He has set His name in Jerusalem (1 Kings 11:36). Passover – God’s Countdown Begins!

passover 2015As we prepare to remember Passover, I am reminded that it also contained two other equally important feasts; Unleavened Bread and First Fruits. In fact Passover began a countdown of sorts to the first of God’s supernatural harvests. The Feast of Unleavened Bread began the next day after Passover and the Feast of First Fruits began on the next Sunday, which was usually 3-7 days later depending on the year. First Fruits marked the first of the annual harvests and a sheaf of barley was waved before the LORD in thanksgiving for the coming harvest. Prophetically, Jesus was raised from the dead on this exact feast day and represents the first fruit of the harvest of souls to come. Fifty days later the second of the annual harvest days occurred – Pentecost. This harvest marked the bringing in of the wheat harvest. Prophetically it represents the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit, spoken of by the prophet Joel as the ‘former rain’. Continue reading →

They flout the phrase “racism” as a battle flag and a reason for very problem they have, but I have a different solution. Turn back to the God of the Bible!

Root Source Ltd. reports “It will happen both on the first day of spring and on the first day of the Jewish religious calendar, the beginning of the month of Nisan. Such an astronomical event only takes place once every 100,000 years, experts said.

The basic challenge was “BE NOT AFRAID!” While those exact words may have not been used, they could have. It reminded me me God’s encouragement to Joshua and Hezekiah of the Old Testament.
