Gog Rising – part 3

In this third edition of Gog Rising, I want to deal with the issue, Why would Russia attack Israel? Ezekiel gives the answer:

 “to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land.” – Ezekiel 38:12

I want to address Ezekiel’s list in the opposite order he listed them:

1) Who dwell in the midst of the land. Historically, Israel occupies the ‘land bridge’ between Africa and the Mid East. They also control water access to the Mediterranean Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Suez Canal, the Persian Gulf, and the Red Sea. As far as travel between Asia and Africa, they are truly in the “midst of the land”. Continue reading

The Problem of Lawlessness

10-commandmentsAs we approach the end of the age, we know the spirit of lawlessness will be prevalent. This is true in every part of society and that includes politics.

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way – 2 Thessalonians 2:7

The lawlessness referred to here is not the breaking of man’s laws but, the breaking of God’s laws, which are more stringent than man’s laws. For example, breaking your word is as bad as stealing. By that standard most politicians would be called ‘lawless’. Politicians are more concerned about their standing and re-election or committee positions than the keeping their word or the good of the country. We have a lot of politicians and very few statesmen! Is China preparing for war?

Several chinesemilitary0305recent Secretaries of State and Defense have worried about China’s seeming military buildup and their obvious challenges toward the United States. This Foreign Policy article highlights recent developments. I present it for your consideration and prayer.

It is wise for us to remember what Daniel had to say about foreign policy:
