Put on the Armor of God

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,” 1 Tim. 4:1

In 2019 at the State of the Union address, President Trump said – “To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking the Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb. Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life. And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth – all children – born and unborn – are made in the holy image of God.” Continue reading

Jesus will Purify for Himself a People

“To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.” – Titus 1:15,16

Democrat rallying cry

We have a lot of impurity in the world, certainly in politics. Michael Brown of Town Hall writes, “There is no spin that can be put on this. No justification. No explanation that softens the blow. On February 25, 44 Democrat senators, including all 6 declared presidential candidates, voted against the Born Alive Protection Act. Put another way, they voted for infanticide. … The Democrats truly have become the party of death, joined enthusiastically by far-left Bernie Sanders.”

God Created Us Male and Female

The Apostle Paul warned about the times we live in, a time when good is called evil and evil is called good.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” – 2 Tim. 4:3,4

In May this year the House of Representatives voted to pass the Equality Act. The Equality Act would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include “sex,” “sexual orientation,” and “gender identity” among expressly recognized “non-discrimination” categories in “public accommodations” (the definition of which would be dramatically expanded); and force employers of 15 or more people to recognize their claimed “gender identity,” forbid them from “discriminating” based on “sexual orientation” or “gender Continue reading

Apostasy is Upon Us

The Apostle Peter wrote about our days, comparing us to Sodom and Gomorrah and to Balaam –

“and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked” – 2 Pet. 2:5-7

“having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man’s voice restrained the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. … While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.” – 2 Pet. 2:14-20 Continue reading

The precipice, next the avalanche

web pictures 100Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. – Gal. 1:3-5

Paul was faithful to preach the good news of forgiveness of sins to those who would repent and turn from their sinful ways but, he did not hold back from identifying that wickedness of an evil age as so many preachers do today. Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ but, clearly taught that the true Gospel does not accommodate sin! Continue reading

The End of the Story

1000 year reign of Christ

The last two chapters of Revelation describe the new heaven and the new earth that is coming but, more important, they describe the hope of mankind –

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” – Rev.:21:4,5 Continue reading

MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN

hand-on-wall“While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them. Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God which had been in Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. In the same hour the fingers of a man’s hand appeared and wrote opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace; and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. … And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.” – Daniel 5:2-28

Who will stand with the Lord?

which kingIn my last article, Which King will You Choose?, I tried to illustrate the truth that the people cannot gain heaven’s blessings by choosing leaders that only look good or sound good or even that agree with what you think. If they do, they inevitably get a King Saul. They must choose leaders whose hearts are after God – like King David. But, there is another truth in this process that is seldom referred to – and that is the people always get the leaders they deserve! If Americans  reject God and His laws they cannot expect God to give them righteous leaders. If God does happen to give them righteous leaders they will only reject them, or worse. Continue reading

Judgment Begins with Christians

The Church Under Attack (Steve Sutherland/Flickr/Creative Commons)

The Church of Jesus Christ is under attack worldwide. In the Middle East and Africa it is under violent attack from Islam but, in the west it is also under attack from such lies as humanism, atheism, false prophets and teachers, and yes, from political correctness. The devil, knowing his time is short, has pulled out all stops in his attacks. If he is unsuccessful in attacking from the outside, he attacks from the inside with sexual perversion, the pride of kingdom building and ‘bigness’, and even the philosophy of trying to be all things to all people. Biblical standards are expendable and take a back seat to a ‘feel good’ gospel.

Jesus would not be welcome in most churches today with His message of “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” He warned about the end times – Continue reading
