“Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” – 1 Cor. 5:7, 8

As I consider the protests happening right now, I want to point out the utter hypocrisy of them. First, they are marching and rioting on behalf of a man who was on drugs and had a criminal record, all because he was black. Meanwhile another black man, a Nigerian Pastor, a righteous man,  and his wife are gunned down by Islamic terrorists and they say nothing. Second, leaders who are maintaining “lock-down” orders in their states over Covid19 are marching with the protesters. Suddenly, the Covid19 threat doesn’t seem to be so bad, or perhaps they think they are above the rest of us who have to obey their orders! And I notice as well, that all these leaders are Democrats who are pandering for the Black Community’s vote this November!  Third, now while the death of anyone by violence is a tragedy, what about the fact that a majority of black deaths are caused by other black people? What about the fact that the reason more Black people are in jail is because they commit more crimes? What about the fact that the Black community has more broken and fatherless homes than other groups, which leads to more crimes, and by the way, to more abortions of their babies! And the Democrat welfare machine promotes it. And Republicans are complicit in it as well as they also support it.

 

The real problem is not political as Democrats would have us believe, it is spiritual. People, including Black people, need a change of heart. They need to hear the Gospel of the Kingdom, that Jesus preached. It begins with repentance and then it pins their hope on the coming heavenly kingdom, not on earth, where the prince of darkness rules. Thank God, some are beginning to understand this, such as the Black man in this video –

I hope you will listen to his message to the end – it is heartfelt truth.

The Kingdom of God is coming. It will be a kingdom of joy and happiness and God-given purpose to every life. God will wipe away every tear and there will be no more dying.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” – Rev. 21:4

There will be no more rioting and looting of family owned businesses or beating and killing of the innocent either, but there will be perfect justice for everyone.

“You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.” – Exo. 23:2

Politicians will no longer grow rich at the expense of the people by taking bribes and showing favor for their gain. They will no longer exempt themselves from the laws they pass for the rest of us. They will be subject to the same health care and retirement the rest of us have.

“You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.” – Deut. 16:19

But, first – judgement will begin in the Church. Hypocrisy must first be rooted out in the Church. This Covid19 crisis is highlighting this hypocrisy like nothing else, it is separating the sheep from the goats, so to speak. Pastors like Joel Osteen will be shown for what he is, a self-seeker. But, there are many others as well. Preachers who should be alerting their congregations to the signs all around us of the Lord’s soon coming and His judgment but, instead are preaching not against sin but a message of sloppy agape and greesy grace.

The year 2020 is a year of change, it is a new decade, maybe the last decade. And the change is accelerating. I want to remind you of the challenge Joshua gave to the people of Israel when they were facing a new future as we are –

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” – Josh. 24:15

I pray we will all make the right choice.
