As I listen to all the news and proclamations concerning the Paris attack of the Islamic State, I am saddened by the lack of understanding exhibited by those speaking. Our President and his administration seem unwilling to even mention the name Islam in connection with the problem when ISIS or ISIL clearly state they are acting in obedience to the Koran and call themselves the true Islam. Hillary Clinton, the often acknowledged front-runner of the Democratic presidential race, even declared “We are not at war with ISIS!”. We are witnessing stupidity glorified by political correctness among our leaders.
The so-called peace loving adherents to Islam, who claim to be the majority, also are become suspiciously silent in publicly condemning those who are supposedly corrupting their religion. The facts are that Islam has always been a political-religious system that believes in ascendancy. The only times they have been “peaceful” are when they have subjugated everyone else in the neighborhood or they have been too weak to exert their goals of dominance. That includes those who are of a different denomination within Islam, such as Sunni or Shea. Even when they are at “peace” they denigrate all others under their control to a second-class subsistence. This is their historical record. Why can so many in the United States not understand what is so clearly evident?
I believe the prophet Jeremiah has the answer for us.
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. – Jeremiah 2:13
America was founded upon Christian foundational principles, as all our founding Fathers and documents declare. We were Christian nation and our Common Law was based on Biblical principles. We allowed “strangers” in the land but we did not allow them to dictate our culture – there was no Sharia Law for example! But, we have forsaken our founding principles which were like living water to us and instead have hewed out new cisterns which are broken. They may be “politically correct” but they can hold no water!
If Americans do not return to their founding belief in God and trust in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, nothing else will deliver us from this present trouble. The Bible’s King David declares the answer to ISIS –
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. – Psalm 20:7
If we do not head this advice, we will experience more of what France recently did.
