Now that Christmas is over and the American election is hanging in the balance, you might be wondering what’s next? I believe Holy Scripture tells us what is next. God gives us a hint right from the very beginning of Creation. In Genesis God said –

“Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.” – Gen. 1:14, 15

Now everyone knows the stars can be used to navigate and to tell time and seasons but, few realize their first use was for signs. God uses them and the constellations they form as signs for mankind to understand the prophetic times of God’s plan for history. These were revealed to man early on. The Wise men followed them to find the Christ Child when He was born, and they still tell their story. I want to begin with one that I first wrote about several years ago – the story of Virgo, the constellation of the Virgin. It’s story is told in Revelation chapter 12.

“Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.” – Rev. 12:1,2

This sign was fulfilled in the heavens in September, 2017 as the Sun was under the head of Virgo and the Moon was under her feet.

In November of 2016 the planet Jupiter entered the constellation Virgo and went into retrograde. Because of its large orbit compared to earth’s, Jupiter appears to be moving back and forth, called retrograde motion. It continues in this retrograde motion until September 23, 2017, a period of 42 weeks minus 1 day, which is a normal human birth cycle, when it leaves Virgo on its trip to the constellation Taurus. Just above Virgo is the constellation Leo which has 9 stars. At this time there are also 3 planets just below Leo, Mercury, Mars, and Venus, thus making the 12 stars that form Virgo’s crown. When it exits Virgo’s womb, Jupiter begins it’s trip towards the constellation Taurus.

As Jupiter reaches the horns of Taurus, it will be joined by the planet Mars on August 13, 2024, which is the 9th of Av on the Hebrew calendar: a day of trouble for the Jewish nation, the day on which the two previous Temples were destroyed. The Hebrew name for the constellation Taurus is Shur which means ‘coming to judge’. The Hebrew name for Mars is Ma-Adim which means ‘the red one’ or ‘the Son of Man’. Also in the constellation Taurus is a cluster of stars known as the Pleiades which means ‘the congregation’. The clear meaning of this is “The Son of Man comes to judge with His Congregation, or saints.”

Now the interesting thing about this sign is that the time from Jupiter leaving Virgo, Sept. 23, 2017, to the time it goes into conjunction with Mars between the horns of Taurus, August 13, 2024, is exactly 7 years. A time period the prophet Daniel predicts the Antichrist will confirm a treaty with Israel, which he will break in 3½ years.

“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.” – Dan. 9:27

The ‘one week’ Daniel speaks about is of course 7 years. Now, I do not know if this ‘one week’ begins on September 23, 2017 of the Virgo sign or not. Perhaps this sign is just warning us that it is about to begin. But, the fact that this Virgo sign has not occurred before does make one wonder. Also to highlight this sign all the planets of our solar system were in perfect alignment forming a straight line below Virgo on the date Jupiter emerged from Virgo to begin its trip to Taurus.

Since the Antichrist places the Abomination that Desecrates in the Temple at the midpoint of the seven years, or 3½ years, we should expect to see a new Temple in Jerusalem soon. Could this abomination that desecrates be placed on August 2024, the 9th of Av, thus completing this disastrous day?

This story told in the constellations Virgo and Taurus definitely places us at the end of time, the coming of the Son of Man to judge the earth.

But, there are other signs as well. Jesus said –

Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.” – Luke 21:29-32

Now there are several interpretations as to what ‘a generation’ is. Some say 40 years, some say 70-80 years, some say 120 years but a common sense interpretation would be – “the people that are alive to see the event”. And according to King David, the normal life span of most people is 70 to 80 years.

“The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” – Psalm 90:10

Now, the fig tree is used throughout Hebrew poetry and in parable after parable as a symbol of Israel.

“And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan as far as Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.” – 1 Kings 4:25

“The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away!” – Sng. 2:13

“I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, and separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved.” – Hos. 9:10

So, it is clear that when Jesus said “Look at the fig tree”, He was referring to Israel. Now Israel just celebrated it’s 70th. birthday on April 19, 2018, which is 70 years from its founding on the 14th day of May in 1948. According to David’s life formula and if ‘by reason of strength’ God gives Israel 80 years, this would place the time line to the year 2028, or another 7 to 8 years from now! At which time according to King David, Israel would ‘fly away to be with God.’ Whatever this means, it certainly magnifies the warning of Jesus that “when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.”

While there are many more signs signaling the nearness of the coming of the Lord, I will mention just two more – ‘the great falling away’ and the ‘man of sin being revealed.’

“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” – 2 Thes. 2:3, 4

We are certainly seeing the ‘great falling away’ beginning as churches around the world are accepting the abortion of babies in the womb, accepting homosexuality and even ordaining them as pastors and priests, forgetting the covenant of marriage and accepting the concept of no-fault divorce, even forsaking the creation message of Genesis as they accept evolution as fact and not the Word of God. And as the spirit of Antichrist infects the world with immorality, worship of other gods such as money, sports, entertainment and sexual promiscuities, and gathers his elitist globalists to exert control over politics, the news media, and education, and even over our health. Will it be long before the real Antichrist makes his entrance into this world? All that is left to do is rebuild the Jewish 3rd. Temple in Jerusalem, and many plans are being laid to do that right now. We are surely near to the coming of the Lord. But, there is one more thing that must happen.

God gave Israel, and the world, seven Feasts when God Himself would meet with the people: they are Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. Jesus fulfilled the first four when He was on the earth the first time and I believe He will also fulfill the last three as well. They are all prophetic in nature and they also involve the harvest times in Israel. The Feast of First Fruits had to do with the Barley harvest when a corner of the barley field was harvested and waved before the Lord as an offering. The Feast of Pentecost had to do with the wheat harvest when the Lord sent the ‘former rain’ to ripen the wheat. It was when the Church was born. And the Feast of Tabernacles had to do with the fruit harvest and also the remembrance of the Israelites in the wilderness dwelling in tents and huts. Prophetically, it speaks of the time the Lord will come and dwell with His people. But before the last harvest, the Lord would send the ‘latter rain’ to bring in the final harvest. This was spoken of by the Apostle James –

“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer (God) waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.” – James 5:7

We are told in Scripture that the latter rain will be much stronger than the former rain and it comes just before the final harvest. This is spoken of in the Book of Revelation –

“Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.” – Rev. 14:14-16

When this latter rain falls, it will be like the time of Pentecost again, only greater! For Jesus told His disciples –

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” – John 1:50

Though there may be troubling times, remember when Jesus came the first time there were troubling times also, yet in the midst of them we will walk with an anointing of the Holy Spirit that is greater than anything the Devil or his Antichrist can throw against us. We who live in this final generation will see the Temple built and desolated by the Antichrist. We will see the wrath of Satan poured out on Israel and Christians and we will see the Lord returning in glory and be caught away in the rapture. We will see Satan thrown down from heaven and we will overcome him as Scripture says –

“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” – Rev. 12:10, 11

All these are signs, some have happened, some are happening even now, and some are soon to happen. God is calling to you – “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” This redemption is for everyone who will confess their sins and confess Jesus with their mouth believing on Him.
