The Apostle Peter wrote of false believers even in his day saying, “They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;”. In the Revelation letters Jesus dictated to John, the Apostle, He warns there would also be false believers in the last days. Continue reading
We just had an Event called The Return and also a prayer march on Washington D.C. in which over 100,000 participated, either in person or by simulcast worldwide. But, compared to our population as a nation (331,494,557) it was just a “drop in the bucket”, so to speak, little more than .03%. One wonders if it made the threshold God demanded of Sodom to save themselves (Gen. 18:32). It certainly did not meet the threshold of Nineveh, where the entire population repented to stave off God’s judgment. Continue reading
If I were a Democrat, I would be afraid of God. The Bible says –
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” – 1 Cor. 6:9, 10
“Surely I have taught you statutes and judgments, just as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should act according to them in the land which you go to possess. Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the LORD our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him? … Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren,” – Deut. 4:5-9
In this time of political elections the various parties are falling all over themselves to promise more freedom and free things to the voters but, what is the essence of true freedom? I think Scripture has the clearest answer to this question. Paul wrote to the Galatians –
“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” – Gal. 5:1 (NASB)
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” – Gal. 5:1 (KJV)
The King James translation has it “Stand fast” in other words we have to struggle and fight to maintain the freedom Christ gave us on the cross. So what do we have to struggle and fight against? Continue reading
Our nation was not founded to be a Christian nation but, it was founded upon Christian principles. Our founding fathers were all believers in God and for the most part in the Bible as His word to mankind. Here are quotes from the first three of our Presidents –
“While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.”
—The Writings of Washington, pp. 342-343.
“Now I will avow, that I then believe, and now believe, that those general Principles of Christianity, are as eternal and immutable, as the Existence and Attributes of God; and that those Principles of Liberty, are as unalterable as human Nature and our terrestrial, mundane System.”
–John Adams wrote this on June 28, 1813, excerpt from a letter to Thomas Jefferson
“God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever…”
—Notes on the State of Virginia, Query XVIII, p. 237.
“I am a real Christian – that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus Christ.”
—The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, p. 385
A few nights ago I was awaken by a voice that said a single word – “Today.“ I don’t know if it was an audible voice or just one in my mind but, it was clear and distinct. It was about three in the morning but, I was awake – wondering if this was the Day of the Lord’s return or what it could mean. My dear wife passed away last month and I wondered if it might be my time as well. As I lay there thinking about it, the verses in Hebrews began flooding into my mind – Continue reading
Our country was founded on the biblical belief in the freedom God has given to mankind. But, what happens to a society when TRUTH is hijacked by those who are supposed to protect it?
“No one calls for justice,
Nor does any plead for truth.
They trust in empty words and speak lies;
They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.” – Isa. 59:4
I taught Science and Math in public schools for 33 years and I witnessed first hand the downward trend of education from having a Christian base to one of humanistic atheistic base. In fact, this move has been augmented by a growing hostility by government to Christianity. Government directed this educational movement by using the tried and true ‘carrot and stick’ method. They gave stipends to schools who would follow their lead and withheld it from those who would not. Their premier item was the unproven doctrine of evolution, which directly opposes Christianity. Over several generations this move has progressed, largely behind the scenes until now, most parents would be shocked to find out how little parental control they have over their children’ lives. Sex education classes, including homosexual and lesbian lifestyles, are now pushed in most schools and many of them forbid parents opting their children out of them.
Yet the Bible proclaims children are the primary responsibility of the parents.
The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.” – Ps. 127:3-5
“Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren,” – Deut. 4″9
“You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” – Deut. 11:19
The family is under attack because the devil knows the family is the foundation of all society. And what better way for him to destroy the family than to take over the children’s education? He can then prevail in just a few generations. Church Sunday schools are a vain attempt to counter this move, it is vain to believe 1/2 to 1 hour a week can match the 35 hours a week that the public schools have your children. Heavy parental involvement may serve to lessen the effect but, that is not the prevailing attitude.
I believe every Christian parent should watch this video trailer about how the public school system has been used to destroy Christianity.
Syndicated columnist, Cal Thomas writes –
“Every Christian parent with a child in a government school should see this… A mass exodus from government schools is the only way to preserve the souls and minds of our children, whether it gets the attention of politicians or not…and it would.” — Cal Thomas, syndicated columnist and Fox News political contributor
Our founding fathers understood this principle well and insured that education was founded on the Bible and it’s precepts.
“In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed … No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.” – Preface by Noah Webster in his 1828 Dictionary.
Our colleges and universities were originally founded to promote this principle as well, as the Harvard Rules and Precepts states –
“The main end of the scholar’s life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life. Therefore, to lay Christ in the bottom is the only foundation of all sound knowledge and harmony.” – Harvard Rules and Precepts, 1638
The 2018 election of so many Democrat socialists highlight the effect of several generations of government school indoctrination of our children by those pushing socialism and communism and Islam. It should serve as a wake up call to all Christians to stand and fight for their children before it is too late.
My heart is weeping for a nation founded on Biblical principles that has fallen into a net of apostasy, rebellion, and sin. As the Pilgrim William Bradford declared, “We shall be as a city founded upon a hill” that reflects the glory of Almighty God. How shocked he would be today to see the corruption and rebellion rampant in society today. We have become as Isaiah prophesied –
“Alas, sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the LORD, They have provoked to anger The Holy One of Israel, They have turned away backward.” – Isa. 1:4
