Much has already been said about the year 2021, some from the Lord but most through the vain hope of man. I don’t know for sure what 2021 will bring but I think it will be a year of new beginnings. Things that we are used to are old and will not work anymore. Things that are new will come to the front. Jesus made a statement about this –
“Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” – Matt. 9:17
Paul wrote to the Corinthians about Christ our Passover –
“Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” – 1 Cor. 5:6-8
This word applies to every aspect of our lives. To politics, which is full of the leaven of fraud, payoffs, and influence selling. To the economy, that has prospered by using faulty scales and overpricing and slave labor, it will all come down. That will all come to an end as the great whore of Babylon is judged –
“And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. “The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all.” – Rev. 18:9-14
It also applies to the entertainment industry that has spread its immorality around the earth and to the information industry, like Face Book and Twitter, that use information to control mankind. It applies to the education industry that does its part to call evil good and good evil and distort the truth. In fact, they teach people to not love the truth so they will be deceived.
It also applies to the Church that has made the true Church into a religion of forms and rituals designed to make their followers think they are OK. “Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— (Rev. 3:17). Instead of teaching the truth of the Bible, they teach church doctrines, which are just doctrines of man. They may give lip service to the Holy Spirit but they do not let the Holy Spirit into the fellowship in reality. They may go for months without taking Communion but they will not go a service without taking up the offering. Their altars are dry and cold, not set on fire by the Holy Spirit and not wet by the tears of repentance of their members. In fact the message of sin and repentance is seldom heard. They are an ‘old wineskin’ and cannot hold the new wine!
Jesus urged the lukewarm church to “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” – Rev. 3:18. Buy gold refined in the fire, in other words, buy the word of God that is tested and embrace the testing that will try your faith so that you may have treasures in heaven, not on this earth. Get white garments, garments of righteousness that God gives to those who live right. Be anointed with the oil of the Holy Spirit that you may see clearly what the will of God is and not be deceived by the spirit of lawlessness. This the way you will overcome the trials and testing’s that are coming.
Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” – (Rev. 3:20). I can testify of the truth of these words. In 1963, I was a junior in college studying Physics and Chemistry and Math. I was an elder in the Lutheran Church but, I hadn’t really met Jesus, I just knew about Him. During this time, I was invited to a little country church in Evanger, WI where a Norwegian pastor was speaking and the Holy Spirit met me with these words. The Pastor asked me to read them. I did. He then asked, “Did anything happen?” I said “No”. So he said “Read it again!” Well, after reading it three times, the truth of those words hit me and Jesus came into my heart. And He has been there ever since!
If you are confused about these times, know that God is not. If you have been existing on just religion and want to know about the life giving power written about in the Bible, Jesus is still knocking on heart’s door’s in this hour and He will come in to your heart if you ask Him to. If you once knew Him but it’s been some time since you talked to Him, He is still knocking and if you open your heart’s door, He will come in.
Let this year be a year of new beginnings.
