King David was renowned for many things, but did you know he was also a prophet? And one of his most powerful prophesies was that “If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?” (Ps. 11:3). What do you suppose these ‘foundations’ are? I think they were the foundations of mankind. As far as we humans go, what was the first act of creation God did after making Adam? I believe it was Eve, 

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” – Gen. 1:28

God performed the very first marriage and His purpose was that they would have children and have dominion over the earth. The dominion part was lost when Adam and Eve fell to sin, but God has never revoked His blessings on marriage and having children. It is a theme throughout the Bible and the last prophet of the Old Testament once again highlights this truth. He points out Judah’s sin in this regard –

“Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem, For Judah has profaned The LORD’s holy institution which He loves: He has married the daughter of a foreign god.” – Mal. 2:11

Malachi goes on to say, “For the LORD God says that He hates divorce” and he also gives the reason –

“But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore, take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.” – Mal. 2:15

There is something about a godly marriage that is precious to God. It is the children produced. They were to be raised in the fear and admonition of the LORD. He intended that the knowledge He imparted to Adam and to Moses and to the prophets would be carried on through the generations. It was to be the foundation of their knowledge. In fact, Malachi ends his prophetic words with this truth –

“Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.” – Mal. 4:4

As Moses delivered the Law of God from Mount Horib, he instructed the people “to teach them to their children and grandchildren” (Deut. 4:9). From our early beginnings, America was founded on these principles. Our early educational systems were also. Harvard’s motto was –

 Let every Student be plainly instructed, and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is, to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life (John 17:3) and therefore to lay Christ in the bottom, as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning. And seeing the Lord only gives wisdom, let everyone seriously set himself by prayer in secret to seek it of him (Prov. 2:3).

Most of the other schools also had similar goals. But America has slipped into humanism and paganism with Nazi like ceremonies on college Campi.

This is what our enemy is teaching their children. Enemy is too strong a word you say, I call anyone who is calling me ‘The Great Satan’ someone who is my enemy! 

Now this is why what we are teaching our children is so important. If we don’t reverse course soon our country will be lost. And the way to reverse course has long been shown to us, put our educational system back on a Biblical foundation. If our schools won’t do it, then the churches must! And if the churches won’t, then the parents must! Remember Church, what the Biblical scholar of yesteryear, Mathew Henry, said. “If you don’t have church at home, neither will you have it in the church!” Remember, the education of your children is the responsibility of parents, not the governments! As an educator with 33 years of experience, 29 of them at the college level, my wife and I, who was also a teacher, decided as we witnessed the degrading of our educational system that we should homeschool our last two children. Back in those days there was not much help to be had but parents today have it much better. There are all kinds of help with curriculum and support groups. So, Christian parent, you don’t have any excuse for not taking the responsibility for training the child God has given you.

Remember, as the prophet Malachi said, the Lord is soon coming, and He will be looking for those who –

“But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.” – Mal. 4:2

In other words, He will be looking for those who have the proper foundation in the 10 Commandments and are walking in obedience to them.
