Watch and Pray Against Deception

parable-of-the-sower 2

As we approach the ending of the ‘end-time’ experience, I want to remind you of a biblical law that is still in effect. It is the Law of Sowing and Reaping. It says whatever you sow, that you will reap. Scripture says –

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” – Gal. 6:7-9

Paul is writing this warning to Christians! They also have to watch what they sow. Jesus said it in a different way –

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ – Matt. 7:21-23

Notice, Jesus even includes those who are religious, who are doing what most Christians call ‘revival‘, prophesying in His name, casting out demons in His name, and calling Him Lord! But Jesus accused them of being ‘lawless’ because they did not do the will of the Father in heaven. Paul warns about the last days and the work of the ‘lawless one’ –

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason, God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” – 2 Thes. 2:9-12

The spirit of the lawless one is full of “all unrighteous deception“, so it is easy to be deceived. Our only protection is to be led by the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s word. We have to love the truth radically and to judge all events by the truth of God’s word. The work of the lawless one is becoming so blatant now that it is easy to identify it, especially in the church. Now even Satanism is being celebrated in some churches as this link will show. Churches and ministries that allow homosexual participation without

calling it sin or even ordain them as ministers are also easy to recognize. Churches that are preaching there are more ways to God than Jesus, such as those preaching Chrislam, are also easy to recognize. But the churches that are warping their doctrines to fit the modern culture, not preaching against divorce, abortion, or women preachers, are not so easy to detect. They take the false path of saying God’s word must align with the culture instead of the culture must align with God’s word! They may be prophesying or casting out demons, but they are lawless!

The term lawless one means one who sets himself above the law of God. God gave His law for all mankind to observe to Moses on Mt. Horeb. We call it the Ten Commandments. They are regulations that will allow mankind to live in peace and harmony and obey God. They apply to each individual, each church, and each government. Jesus summed them up by saying –

Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” – Matt. 22:37-40

Jesus said He did not come to destroy this law but, to fulfill it. He sent the Holy Spirit upon His Church to continue fulfilling it and the last outreach of God to the earth will also be to send the prophet Elijah back to earth saying “Remember the Law of Moses My servant” (Mal. 4:4).

new wineskinsI believe God will send a “latter rain” to complete His final harvest of the earth but there is another Law that Jesus told about wineskins.

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.” – Mar. 2:22

In other words, don’t try to try to have revival by using methods used in the past, the old wineskins. The Holy Spirit demands new wineskins or old wineskins that have gone through soaking in the water of the word, endured the pounding and stretching as oil is massaged into them, so they can once again be pliable and won’t burst when the new wine begins to expand. I have witnessed so-called revivals today where ministers are praying for people that fall down under the spirit, so they say, but I also watched the minister push them with his hand and I think ‘old wineskin’. If the Holy Spirit wants to ‘slay someone in the Spirit’ He doesn’t need a man to push them!

We desperately need a new move of the Holy Spirit but, we don’t need one manufactured by man, so I urge you to pray for the true and watch for the deception that so easily comes.
