The signs of the Lord’s return are everywhere evident to those who have eyes to see. I have listed here 26 of them but, there are more. The re-establishment of the nation of Israel is one of the biggest and most evident. The prophet Isaiah called it an “ensign to the nations”.  I have spent little time on it even though there are an abundance of prophesies signaling this event as a last day’s signpost. The prophets Joel and Zachariah declare it is the main argument God uses to judge the nations and that Jerusalem will be a “heavy stone” and burdensome weight to the world.

“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.” – Joel 3:1-2

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” – Zech. 12:2-3

Sign 1: But there are many more signs to examine. The Bible says False Bible teachers would be money hungry. They would be smooth talkers, have many followers, and slur the Christian faith. Many will claim to be Christian but their goal is to  ‘make merchandise’ of those who follow them. Some will deny Jesus as the Son of God substituting themselves or some other god

“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.” – 2 Pet. 2:1-3

The prophet Isaiah said –

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” – Isa. 5:20

These false teachers would include secular leaders as well as religious leaders. First, I accuse the politicians, mainly Democrats, who immediately upon election call for more abortion of the innocent. They are introducing socialism for our Republic. They are promoting homosexual, lesbian, transgender lifestyles in their laws and at the same time opposing biblical based morality. They talk out of both sides of their mouths, calling evil good and good evil. They oppose common sense legislation, that they agreed with when under President Obama, just because President Trump proposed it. They give $500 million for a wall in the middle east but not one cent for a wall on our southern border. If all the ‘fine print’ of the Bills Congress passes (Some 1000’s of pages long) would be known by the public, I’m sure the public would kick them out of office!

Lastly, I accuse the false church leaders which continue spewing left leaning ideas; saying Jesus is not the only way to heaven, standing against the nation of Israel, blessing abortion centers, supporting the homosexual lifestyle, and discounting the Bible as the word of God. Their leaders not only won’t enter the kingdom of God but, they also block the way for their followers.

There is currently a doctrine (teaching) being pushed on the Church that there is a separate plan of salvation for Jews and Gentiles, that the Jews are saved just by virtue of being Jews. It even claims that Jesus is not the Messiah and that He never claimed that He was. This is dangerous teaching because of the deception that it fosters on both believers and on unbelievers who happen to be Jewish. Let’s look at what the Scriptures themselves have to say about this topic:

“Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. – Acts 4:8-12

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. – John 14:6

These two Scripture references are all inclusive; both Jew and Gentile are included. There is no separate path for salvation for the Jew or for the Gentile! Scripture makes it very clear, the Gospel is to be taken “to the Jew first, then to the Gentile.” (Romans 1:16). This is not an age-related dispensation formula but, a “for all time” strategy for the Church.

One of the devil’s main avenues of attack is deception. Saying that Jews are saved by election is certainly one of those deceptions. I wonder who those who believe this heresy think were present 2000 years ago to hear Peter’s Pentecost sermon? If this doctrine is true, then Peter’s sermon was wasted effort because all who were present were Jews! No, the Church began by preaching the Gospel to the Jew first, then the Gentile and that mandate hasn’t changed in 2000 years.

Rebellious Jews and Gentiles alike are still claiming Jesus is not the Messiah and that He never claimed He was, but, let’s let Jesus Himself answer their claims –

The Samaritan woman said to Jesus,  “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.” – John 4:25-26

There is much more evidence of current false teachers and prophets in our day but, I want to continue with another sign.

Sign 2: Homosexuality would be increasingly evident at the end of the age.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting” – Rom. 1:18-24

Sadly, the Church is gradually caving in to the pressure of ‘political correctness’ and acknowledging homosexuality as a viable lifestyle. The latest church to affirm homosexuals and transgenderism is The Disciples of Christ. In 2008 the Democratic Party voted in a new party platform accepting them. In May, President Barack Obama publicly endorsed same-sex marriage one day after North Carolina voters approved a constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage. This makes all who vote Democrat in direct opposition to God, who condemns this lifestyle because “they did not like to retain God in their knowledge”.

Sign 3: The increase in major Earthquakes would be in diverse places.

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” – Matt. 24:7-8

Only the illiterate would not realize the increase of devastating earthquakes around the world. One energy researcher writes: ”Earthquakes and volcanic activity have increased worldwide. In 2013 10 major volcanoes along the ring of fire became active. The USGS has been strangely silent about this . At the same time land and underwater volcanoes on the planet are awakening up in record numbers. Unrest is growing among world’s super volcanoes like Yellowstone and Long Valley calderas in the U.S, Laguna del Maule in Chile, Santorini in Greece, Campi Flegrei in Italy. Almost all of the world’s active super volcanoes are now exhibiting clear sign of inflation which is an indication that an eruption will take place in the near future.”

I will end this article with 3 end time signs and continue the other 23 in a subsequent article. The Devil’s trickery is to lull people into the unawareness of sleep to the danger approaching. However, Jesus is still warning with the message – “Watch and Pray”.
