Time is running out!

This is a frightening thought for many but, it very well may be true. As many seem to be living in the ‘days of Noah‘ as Jesus predicted and Paul warned Timothy about.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” – 1 Tim. 3:1-6

Paul warns, the last days will be ‘hard to take‘, they will be ‘harsh, fierce, savage’, that is what the word ‘perilous’ means. It means they will be hard to take for the righteous person but for the lost, they will welcome them! They think breaking away from God’s moral restraints gives them liberty! Remember Jesus said that the last days will be like the days of Lot –

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” – Luke 17:28-30

The people of Sodom and Gomorrah lived daily with no regard for God or His laws. They were just like those that Paul warned Timothy about – lovers of their own selves, covetous, without natural affection, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, thinking they were ok with God but, denying His power! Remember why God delivered Lot from their judgment –

“And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:“ – 2 Pet. 2:7

Lot did not look the other way but he was vexed by their filthy conversation (means manner of living) and I’m sure he prayed against it.

As our news is filled today with Harvey Weinstein’s decadent lifestyle we must realize he is just the ‘tip of the iceberg’! Many alive today are tainted with the same wickedness as he is: all the Democrat politicians that overlooked his wickedness for the sake of money and influence, even Republicans who must have known about it and yet said nothing, most of the Hollywood crowd that condoned and promoted him,  much of the news media that shut down the stories about him, and perhaps most of all all the people who watched the filth portrayed in the movies he and those like him produced.

We should not be surprised when judgment comes like it did on Sodom and Gomorrah.

“Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.” – Gen. 19:24,25

Another point to remember – God rescued Lot because of Abraham’s prayers for him –

“And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.” – Gen. 19:29

so, don’t forget to pray for your loved ones, even if they are not living as they should.

Geologic researchers surmise that the destruction very likely began with an earthquake and volcanic actions. Now is God partial? Is there any reason to believe He will not do likewise to the wicked today for the same sins?

In my recent article on the rise in earthquake activity, I document the recent increase in major earthquakes in North America and now there are increasing signals that perhaps the New Madrid fault is getting ready for a mighty shaking.

This present generation has seen so little of God moving and they have been so indoctrinated with humanistic evolution that they cannot discern God’s ways. But, throughout history God has used ‘natural’ forces to bring His corrections and judgments on mankind.

“Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.” – Isa. 29:6

Note the ways God fights against the wicked –

1. thunder, storm and tempest – as in storms such as hurricanes, tornadoes, etc
2. earthquakes – such as in Mexico, etc
3. flame as devouring fire – such as the wildfire now sweeping CA

Now, I know that not all storms or disasters are from God but, He does use them and He does deliver His own from them and He does judge wickedness. In any case, you have been warned and I would also end with this one thought – leaving a lifestyle of wickedness, and lukewarmness toward it, will bring the blessings of God upon you.
