Jesus said there would be wars and rumors of war but, that these would just be the beginning of the birth pangs that would mark the end of the age.

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. … “All these are the beginning of sorrows (lit. birth pangs).” – Matthew 24:6-8

There are so many conflicts going on the news media can’t keep up with them. In the last 2000 years there have only been 15 years when there was peace on earth. The 21st century has seen a dramatic increase of wars and rumors of wars, just as Jesus predicted. The included graph shows current world conflicts but, it does not include areas that are about to break out into large conflicts, such as Ezekiel’s war of Gog or the Psalm 83 war.

Also, there are cultural wars going on that could fall into this category as well, such as the war against Christianity in many parts of the world. The main aggressor in this war is Islam as they persecute and kill Christians in Africa, Indonesia, and the Middle East. Islamic groups like Al Qaeda, Al Nusra, and ISIS use terror as well as war to achieve their goal  , which an Islamic world. In western nations Islam’s war is more subtle, but just as real. Some are speaking out

Christianity by homosexuals, atheists, and liberals as they try to minimize or eliminate Christian values from the culture. Instead of machetes or guns they use the weapons of anti-discrimination, political correctness, and misinformation to gain their victories. But, the victories are just as real and just as deadly in consequence.

In this war most of the Church seems to be asleep. They alone have the weapons to win but they seem to be too comfortable to engage in the fight! What are these mighty weapons that will defeat the enemies of Christ on the earth as well as in the heavens? They are the “blood of Christ”, the “word of their testimony”, and a willingness to die rather than to surrender!

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” – Revelation 12:11

Wielding these three weapons will secure the victory over all ungodliness and falsehood. God gives them to all His army of warriors.
